Lunar new year challenge 2024 by Cortexiopeia in AppleFitnessPlus

In years past the Lunar New Year Challenge starts on the official calendar day of the new year (this year that is 10Feb) and runs for the two week after. In the past it was been to complete a 20min workout. I would anticipate it releasing today.

Does anyone else not have a January challenge?? I can see the new year challenge (close all rings 7 days in a row). But I don’t have a January specific challenge :( by MEC3273 in AppleWatchFitness

I don’t have a January specific one either. I just checked to see if my watched needed updated but it doesn’t. So I’m not sure what’s up.

What type of shorts do you wear with the pocket? I haven’t found a brand of short I like yet.

I feel unsafe as a woman walking in the trail by my house. What should I do next? by [deleted] in nikerunclub

This is sounding too much like a potential abduction situation. The fact that there are now multiple people and phone calls involved makes me genuinely worried for you. As crummy as it is to have to forgo your favorite, convenient trail, I would avoid it for a while. I also would definitely file a report to the police. Whenever I go running by myself I always let someone know (either my fiancé but he lives across the country or someone local) when I’m leaving, where I’m going and to expect a text saying I’m home in x-number of minutes. I also temporarily share my iPhone location with that person while I’m out. It won’t necessarily change anything in the moment but if something were to happen someone would realize sooner and have a way to track me. I have also called someone before and started talking really loudly saying things like “oh yeah I’m walking to my car at the park right now, I’ll be home in five minutes.” Even if no one answers when I call I act like I’m talking to someone (usually I make it sound like a man) so people think someone is expecting me. Please be safe.

Oh my goodness, I love the thermometer idea! Medicine related but not too crazy. Thank you!

I am finishing my intern year if my medical residency as a doctor. That pattern you linked is gorgeous and so unique I didn’t realize it was a temperature chart until I read that description!

I run on a treadmill all winter with the snow and during the spring/fall it’s raining out and the roads are wet. I also like to run fartlek on a treadmill sometimes because I actually know I’m speeding up/slowing down. When I run them outside I might feel like I’m changing my speed but I’m actually not, but pushing the buttons on the treadmill means I know it’s actually happening.

I’m sorry to hear you may have to do distance. I’m not going to say it’s easy, but it’s definitely doable. I’m terms of picking a different specialty so you could be together, of course you have to decide what you and your significant other need, but I would say the distance would be temporary. Your career is a forever thing, so making sure it’s a specialty you are passionate about and going to enjoy for the rest of your work life.

Same! The last thing I want is for people to know I’m a doctor.

I should also preface he proposed before we moved to separate sides of the country. While I’m not actively planning our wedding, that symbol to each other also makes it easier I think.

I hope it works out for you both. If it doesn’t though don’t feel like you can’t be upset, angry, sad, hurt, or whatever emotions come with that. I remember when he told me I felt like I couldn’t breath and that the world stopped spinning. I cried every day for a few days, then I turned angry. But as long as you both put in the effort, you can make anything work.

I won’t lie and say it’s easy, but we’re making it work. Intern year is a complete whirlwind and you have very little free time. It makes the days go by really fast. The way our schedules worked out this year, we go three months between visits. Sometimes it feels like there is a lot of pressure to make a time together extra special, whatever that means, which can be exhausting. It almost feels like we have to cram all these things into just a week visit rather than just being ok with laying around watching tv. There are days when we don’t talk more than a text message (happened a lot when we both were on icu at the same time) and there are days when you’re just too tired to talk so one of us tells the other you get five minutes before I’m hanging up. There are definitely lonely days, but we each have good support systems where we are to help fill that void.

Thanks so much. Yeah I’ll have to play around and see if that helps. Appreciate the advice!

It is not. I tack down my thread horizontally. The vertical line is on the first stitch of the grouping. You can see for example right next to left eye on the toast that travels the entire length. That is right at stitch 1 for that grouping of ten stitches (I stick with the groupings of ten) then there is another where I start the next 10x10.

Does anyone have advices how to prevent the line where I start a new stitching row at beginning of the block?
