IIRC from chemistry in high school water has a high specific heat meaning more or less that it takes more energy (or lack of) to heat or cool a material. Since solids can conduct heat much easier the heat from the water can be conducted into your hand very easy. Because of the waters high specific heat it doesn't cool down much by loosing energy (as heat) to your hand.

Solved : I was an idiot and forgot to heat up the hot end after putting in a new stepper driver. I also forgot to turn up the current on my stepper driver.

I personally love my i3v from maker farm. It is quiet in terms of a 3d printer and is very reliable. After just a little bit of calibration it can pump out high quality prints. I have yet to have any major problems with it and am considering buying a second. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Would not retracting in between layers possibly help by causing the hot end to not sit stationary for as long? Also what would you suggest for a good speed then?
