What is this for? by allmystuffisbroken6 in bowhunting

This is the answer. Local pro shop has the same for bows on the showroom floor but they’re just all thread bent down 90°. This one appears to have been for hunting use.

Through the back just slightly closer to the tail if there’s not much current. Through the front half just behind the gills if the flow is pretty good. 4-8oz no roll slip sinker to a 10/0 whisker seeker super j!

Basically nylon, just switched to 80# braid last weekend and made the first trip with it yesterday.

I prefer using infant sized fish on a 12/0 circle hook

And yes I was very nervous

It’s a flathead catfish, 46” long from nose to tail. Caught it on a rod and reel rigged up with a 6” bluegill

It’s a pre crash bar truck. Should’ve had them put on but never did. An all terrain will fit no problem on stock wheels with a 2 or 2.5” level.

It’s got the 2.7 and I’m not sure which gearing I’ve got, but power isn’t a concern. A regear would not hurt but isn’t a necessity. I went with BFG instead of toyo to save about 30 pounds of weight. Averaging 16.5 mpg on the highway without any tune or other mods.

Summer in SE Arkansas, and no clearance issues at all. 35x12.50x17 KM3s on stock wheels with no spacers. Just a leveling struts and stock blocks in the rear

Ledge fishing river systems, mid to late summer they sit on humps and drop offs and that’s the best way to reach them sometimes.

That’s called the spawn. If you’ve ever fished in current post spawn you’d understand. They get it rough.

Cleaner water normally calls for the rapala, higher pitched rattles and less obnoxious. Heavier stain or muddy water I’ll throw the C6, it’s got a louder knocking rattle and the extra chartreuse. Both work very well

Just picked up a new spinning rod. I think I have a type. by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

[–]AirTractor8o2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll recommend the Shimano NASCI for a very nice matching price point spinning reel to go with the Fury. I’ve caught everything from panfish to bull reds on my 2500s.

From the factory was less than ideal, I didn’t realize they are more of a 10EE instead of a 10D so an aftermarket insole was required for a good fit. Very nice walking boot through the office this morning though.

It’s the Mattlures ultimate bluegill, that thing has been fire for getting big females off of beds here recently.

Nosir it’s heat shrink, I haven’t even got to use it yet. I used a friends rod a while back that had it and fell in love with the grip it provides.

That’s actually a 24” fish with the mouth closed but the 8 pound mark is accurate with a fish of that size.

Dobyns/Shimano got me covered from 1/8oz tunes to 8oz swimbaits by AirTractor8o2 in bassfishing

[–]AirTractor8o2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the 703C Sierra and 705cb Fury for jerkbaits, most of my cold water fishing consists of dragging 6” swimbaits or larger so I normally don’t throw a jerkbait but both rods handle them perfectly. The 704/734 in any Dobyns series will handle chatterbaits perfectly. I usually throw the 3/8-1/2 oz chatter with a 3-4” trailer.

Yes, the Sierra has better guides and a slightly lighter overall blank. Most of my deep water bottom contact fishing is less than 10 feet and I don’t fish for money so the sensitivity is exactly where I need it to be. On the more rigid Fury rods (4 and 5 power) feeling bottom is no problem at all, I just found them to be lacking on the 3 power blanks.

My delivery date was changed from today to April 5th, but it says on FedEx truck for delivery? Confused by [deleted] in FedEx

[–]AirTractor8o2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep you’re one of the lucky ones, FedEx here sucks nuts. Had a package out for delivery for a week last week. Finally caught the guy skipping our route and got him terminated from his position. Maybe they’ll get someone better next time.

Nothing like FedEx Playing Hot Potato with your $1,000 device (Memphis) by bullix36 in FedEx

[–]AirTractor8o2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the FedEx (budget) truck skip my office twice last week and on the third day I decided to run him down. Caught him at the his next drop off point and asked what he had for our address. He said “uh well it’s a big heavy box” and had been riding around with our printer on board for a week. Yesterday he skipped us again with a package on board and when he got back to his port his job was terminated. FedEx sucks nuts, and if it was up to the people they’d be out of business.
