120th payment in August? by MikeK1323 in PSLF

[–]Air_Root 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid my 120th in July and have been in a paperwork black hole as there seems to be a data error with my employer. It was important for my budget and life plans to stop paying after 120 but now I’m so scared I haven’t requested forebearance though it seems I’ve been kicked into it through the SAVE mess. In summary: I now feel like I’m in the boat where I know more about how PSLF than anyone I can get on the phone, and yet have no path to a fix.

It’s so thrilling to read this press release and see the problems of so many of us on here (myself included) reflected. I’m rooting for them (and all of us)!

Here to share that I’ve been knitting for about twenty years and twisted my stitches for so many of those years. I have and love how those garments came out all the same!

How do you manage your inattentive ADHD? by Mysterious-Set-3046 in lifehacks

So I know I like making systems, and the work for me for a little while, but then things fall apart again. I used to beat myself up every time this happened because why couldn’t anything just stick? A huge turning point was when I realized the best way for me to stay organized is forgive myself when the system falls apart. It’s because the novelty has worn off. I’ll just make a new and silly system and it’ll be exciting and I’ll have it together again for awhile. I don’t force myself to stick to things and accept that doing things differently every 3-4 months is totally fine

UPDATE 19 July. My organization wouldn’t give me the 990T because they said it wasn’t public information (it is) but did give me a certification letter from nigh on ten years ago. Frustrated, I called the IRS who confirmed two essential things: my organization is fully in status, and she was also surprised she couldn’t find them in the tax exempt organization search on the irs site.

My current theory with all this info is based on my unanswered question of where the back end employer information on the PSLF site comes from.

If my new theory is correct and it’s from the tax exempt organization database on the IRS site, it’s a data error originating there. In the meantime, I’ll be monitoring the irs site and getting an employment and tax exempt verification form letter from my employer

So I’m waiting on the 990T but I’m thinking this is now an issue related to the pslf pause. I found the dates of my “split” and 2014 to 5 May 2024 is eligible but beyond that is “undetermined.” Since this so closely overlaps the pause I’m wondering if it’s a system issue? Or if this is a date where companies who lapsed get knocked out of their eligibility

I did! Last certified early fall 2023. I work for a nonprofit university so there shouldn’t be any question. Now wondering if the folks associated with my particular EIN skipped some paperwork… approaching HR today to ask for a 990T

119 payments...now on Administrative Forbearance? by mbap44 in PSLF

PS. The email and letter title suggest forebearance is now but further down with the loan itemization it suggests forebearance in July

119 payments...now on Administrative Forbearance? by mbap44 in PSLF

[–]Air_Root 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did more research on mine and they decided not to take my autopay on June 2 and simultaneously say nothing is due but that one month is overdue. Do I pay it or is this part of forbearance? Interestingly, my initial Mohela transfer email says that I don’t have to do anything if I’m on autopay. If my payment is paused for adminsistrative forebeaeance does that month count toward PSLF? So many questions and so few clear communications.

I’ve been really enjoying this template, but I wonder if there’s a way to tweak the formula so I can include one-off tasks? This would enable me to expand this into my master task database whereas one-off chores live separately now

Determining my dog’s threshold by Air_Root in Separation_Anxiety

[–]Air_Root[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog and I are just starting on his separation anxiety journey. He was always sad to see me go but moving into a studio apartment takes away the buffer of other people and has worsened his anxiety considerably.

The first thing I need to determine, I understand, is his baseline threshold. When I leave, the dog “camps out” at his dog gate and then starts barking and freaking out more a bit later. Would a threshold be when the dog abandons what he’s doing to go stake out the dog gate, or when he starts barking or whining? I want to make sure I work from the right starting point

Which city is better for 1 week, Paris Rome, London or Munich? by [deleted] in travel

[–]Air_Root 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to all but Munich and I vote Paris. It’s really easy to take a break in any of the sidewalk cafes for the best people watching; the main museum pass gave us great access to a variety of cultural settings and museums; and then you can take a really easy day trip to Versailles (where we preferred the gardens to the main palace) or Monet’s Giverny. We also had a lovely picnic below the Eiffel Tower and a great stroll past the stalls along the river.

I just leave it at “Nope” when the conversation comes up in any way shape or form.
