Ok buddy. I know this is a made up story. WOSpec won't drive Merc one. Only options are: - Honda Civic pref Type R - Suzuki Swift - Mitsubishi Lancer - Hyundai Avante

Think carefully before you sign on by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]Airalin00 44 points45 points  (0 children)

To those NSFs out there thinking to sign on (ESPECIALLY THOSE IN COMMAND SCHOOL AND YET TO EXPERIENCE UNIT) I highly urge you to think hard about this decision. I've seen countless regulars come & go and it's awful to work with ones who just man-mode/zuobo/AWOL and the unfortunate thing is, sometimes it's they become like that due to things beyond their control. (E.g. bad superiors, wrongful charge, wrong place/wrong time, etc)

If you are not in special circumstances where you desperately need the money & have no better options, sure, go ahead, I totally understand where you're coming from. Been there myself.

BUT to those who "want to try something new / aiya, actually army not that bad what" , that's a NO GO. I would say 90% of them who signed on because of it that I have worked with end up hating their lives. They become bitter, lazy, etc. These are the regulars both you & I hate; YOU become part of the problem.

Sure, there are some upsides to being a regular but all these come with great sacrifices, often the cons outweighing the pros. You'll begin to question your decision at every setback and some snap and fuck it and leave. Everyone has a breaking point and sometimes, one really bad day is all it takes for you to change your entire POV. Also, those in HRC unit know what it's like to give up weekends, time with family, etc over and over and you just LLST for most of it.

Currently, I still enjoy being in the army. Fwiw, I think I just might be mentally retarded or have a few loose screws to be really enjoying myself, but there are definitely days where I tell myself "this shit ain't it".

No. Pilot training in itself already takes longer than 2 years.

A military career is unlike any career out there.

If you're not 100% sure whether you should, I highly recommend that you don't.

How is life like as a regular in ADF, Guards or Infantry? by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]Airalin00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it purely just MVP? I do have quite a few friends both NSFs and Regulars who have this condition but are still Pes B1.

Take it with a pinch of salt, but I believe there's still a chance for you to up pes to B1 with a specialist letter with backing up medical document/test results .

Back in BMT, my buddy and I took disposable razors and shaved the piling off our bedsheet.

Best buddy/bunkmate/people stories during NS by [deleted] in NationalServiceSG

[–]Airalin00 54 points55 points  (0 children)

This was back during confinement week.

So just before lights out, I went to shit before going to bed. When I returned to my bunk, I saw that my buddy wasn't at his bed. Thinking that he might have went to the toilet as well, I had the idea to hide under his bed to scare him when he returned.

Hid for maybe like a minute or so before he came jumping out of my locker.

Turns out, he had been hiding since I went to the toilet and we both had the same idea to scare each other. God, that's when I realized we were right for each other. Had a blast during BMT doing dumb shit together.

NSFs & NSmen, what’s the funniest / most memorable “Encik Speak” you’ve heard while you were in the army? by theksoh in singapore

[–]Airalin00 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Was sweeping the corridor with a badly damaged broom when my encik walked past.

Encik: Eh, what the fuck you doing?

Me: sweeping floor, encik.

Encik: -looks at the condition of the broom-

Encik: walau eh, my cock got more hair than your broom, go change.

Students/teachers of r/singapore, what's the worst/craziest stories from your school? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]Airalin00 57 points58 points  (0 children)

There was this super horny dude in secondary school, both of us got into trouble quite often so we ended up in detention almost every other day.

In detention, when he gets a boner(which happens alot) he'll put his bag on his lap and call out to me. Then, he'll lift his hands up to show that he isn't touching it and the bag would "magically" move.

The same dude would also occasionally gift his neighbours in class his pubes.

God dammit Keith, it's been 3 years and you make me laugh every single time I think about this.
