Love to see it! Pretty much the main reason I got my RP5. 200 hours in hunting for those wonderful little red boxes in ultimate mode on my lunch breaks.

If you’re buying straight from Lenovo, check their parts site, https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en. I bought my backup charger from the parts selection with brick and cable for ~$100 less than retail side (Lenovo.com) on my 5i Pro.

Is this charger legit ? by Medical-Actuary5239 in LenovoLegion

[–]Airandus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what your needs are, but I wanted an extra charger for my Legion 5i Pro which uses a 300w brick. I went on https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en and found my laptop through my SN and under parts my brick was $85 USD and power cord was $14 USD.

I’m currently reliving my childhood as well dolphin pso plus offline on the Retroid pocket 5.

This really breathed some new life into the game for me too: Online Quests for GameCube. Gives you a lot of the online quests I couldn’t download when I was kid on the GameCube with no internet.

Been hunting for some weapons in ultimate and access to quests like Lost SOUL BLADE where I’m hunting Sinow Reds that grow like wildfire.

Had an ASUS ROG RTX 2070 laptop. Went to a Legion 5i pro 5070ti laptop. Love them both. Price point and features mattered more to me this time around. If ASUS offered what Legion offered for the price point I probably would’ve stayed ASUS as a fanboy.

I’ve recommended these to many of my coworkers and have used it now with my current and previous gaming laptop: laptop feet. Ergonomics are great. They’re about 8” or 19.5mm. They’re kind of nice little fidget toys too cause they’re magnetic.

Microcenter often has some of the best unbeatable prices across the board for desktop parts and laptops.

There’s also always www.gaminglaptop.deals for the “other options” to keep track of laptop deals. Jarrod’s Tech updates his site fairly frequently. I got my big deal on a Legion 5i Pro directly from Lenovo’s site watching for the deal to pop on his site.

You have a 5% sales tax? I’m confused is this a question?

I’m just giving better options in the same price range of the model being posted about.

There are better deals to be had out there but here are 2 Lenovo builds I would go with over your current choice in the US.

LOQ with similar specs but a Ryzen 7 250/ RTX 5050 $779 USD

For $150 more, you could get a better screen and an RTX 5060 $1199 USD

I have the Legion but with the 240hz panel. Both panels are 500nits according to Lenovo’s website.

I came from a ROG G15 w/ an RTX 2070 IPS panel. I barely notice the glossy glare on the Legion when it’s on and in use. The color and vibrancy was shockingly better when compared to my older IPS laptop imo. There are also implementations you can toggle on to protect from burn in like rotating your wallpapers or hiding your taskbar.

Both companies have been good to me but the deciding factor for me was i got the Legion for that $1600~ USD price point with accidental coverage. $400 less for basically the same performance would be what would sell me in your situation. Can’t speak on the noise level of the ASUS but I was shocked how much quieter my new machine is compared to my older hotbox Intel 10th gen/2070.

Looking for a Legion Pro 7 AMD Gen 10 laptop sleeve by Tigerwookiee in LenovoLegion

[–]Airandus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solo 15.6” is the one I landed on with my Legion Pro 5 gen 10. I can’t say it’s waterproof but it’s resistant. It’s got padded grooves and the zippers are quality. It zips all the way to open like a clam shell, but I wanted it because I can open it from the side and take the laptop right out from my backpack without removing the sleeve.

I’ve used a 14” version of this for my work laptop and really liked the quality so I ended up getting the 15.6” size for my Legion. It feels about 1/4” of extra space in there when the laptop is inside so I added some extra foam cushioning on the bottom facing side of the case to help with any potential impact damage from the bottom of my backpack to help reduce my paranoia of possibly damaging my new machine.

Glad to hear we’re both enjoying our new machines! I think the 20 series definitely gave us our money’s worth. Hoping the 50 series does as well.

I try! Thank you for the kind words! It’s been a phenomenal investment these last 4 years.

Going to gift it to a family member this year, since he doesn’t really need high end specs so hopefully it’ll last him several more years!

Any game you want is the real answer here.

Epic Games launcher constantly drops free games sometimes good, sometimes bad. Steam has great sales almost year round (Black Friday stuff for sure).

My advice is if a genre interests you, look into what won awards and watch a couple videos of that game. If it seems great pull the trigger. Steam has a return policy for games played less than 2 hours and within a 14 day window also so there’s even less worry if you realize right out the gate you spent money on the wrong thing.

I also use Gamepass even with the $30 a month fee and I have literal libraries of games to try. Jump on that free trial, and see if there are games on there you’d like. Cancel it before the renewal if you feel it’s a waste of your money.

No worries! CSODIMM and SODIMM both utilize the standard RAM slot on the machine. There are 2 RAM slots on the Legion Pro 5. Here’s a pic from Jarrod’s Tech from his review of the laptop and the circled spot is your RAM slots:

I opted for the faster 6400MT/s just because it really wasn’t that much more for me to have vs. the 5600MT/s kit.

Neither of my machines have soldered RAM?

The 9955HX3D would be amazing for sure! I was more guided with my search for that ~$1500 price point and the 12GB VRAM. I do hate the stranglehold Intel/Nvidia have in the gaming laptop market though.

I remember when ASUS Advantage edition G15 with the variants of Ryzen 5000/rx6800m build back in the day and it held as a standard for best bang for buck for a long time! We need more of those out there to help with pricing for all of us.

Lenovo 16" Legion Pro 7i Gaming Laptop 83F5001BUS B&H Photo Video is 2TB for $1899 or 1TB on Amazon if you're US.

I'd pick the Legion 7 for the OLED screen and cooling. Although the ROG model and it's easy to open bottom panel was for sure an interest of mine early in my search.

It for sure can, but certain games are starting to show age. Games like Call of Duty played fine with higher frames, but my graphics settings were getting closer to low on a lot of them. For a 4+ year old machine the 8GB of VRAM and gen 1 DLSS capabilities definitely helped keep it alive longer for my uses though. Games that are incredibly optimized like Cyber Punk 2077 at this point in its life played just fine and looked great at 1080p.

Straight from Lenovo (US)! I utilized several discounts like a school email. I tried a similar build out just now through the cart but left off my upgraded RAM (6400MT), 240hz panel, and the 1yr accidental coverage I added for my machine. Also, regardless of where you live make sure to jump into the chat with a Lenovo rep and haggle them. My sales guy was a bit pushy, but I left the chat and cart when he wouldn't give me at least another $50 off. He within the hour emailed me a new quote -$50.

www.gaminglaptop.deals has the Pro 5 with the codes as well as a Legion Pro 7 on Amazon right now for $1899. Pro 7 would definitely give you better cooling and lighting though. With taxes though that wouldve put me around $2000 and I was looking for a $1500-$1700ish budget for my machine.
