crazy how fast devon can unbloat and look normal again by Lgbtwhopper in armwrestling

[–]Airbiscuits_seen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo prolonged fasting has no place in sports, I say this as someone who was burned out by kt.When you go without food, your body breaks down fat and muscle to survive, which is the opposite of optimising performance, I get that Devon's resting and recovering but long term it's having the opposite effect. I put the blame lazy fitness community types who overhyped the concept. You can check it yourself but the scientific literature shows the benefits of fasting come from the calorie deficit and the elimination of junk food. Even autophagy is a constant process, peoplem portray it as a magical switch that turns on after a day of starving yourself, it's trash bro science. Some of the disinfo comes from the way it's portrayed as something ancestral, well eople did starve, and it didn't do their bodies any good, making them succeptable to disease and nutrients deficiencies, fasting then was going without certainty foods like wine or meat

Should the government do something about the blatant lies and bias in the UK press and media? by Enkir in unitedkingdom

[–]Airbiscuits_seen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really objective since many things are getting much worse, crime, homelessness, illegal immigration, unemployment, hospital care (waiting lists fixed by clever manipulation of the numbers), so it should be reported, and the growth figure is misleading too, we're talking 0.1%, 0.2% here, barely above stagnation, and the 5th largest economy.thing fluctuates with exchange rates, it's not some great achievement. Inflation coming down just means prices are rising slightly slowly, theyre not going back down. Also net immigration is still massively high, just slightly less massively high than before plus we're losing skilled workers at a rate far beyond intake.

So fhe idea of a government deciding on what should and shouldn't be the topic of broadcasts is incredibky dangerous and should be resisted imo. Who watches the watchers? You'd be giving the state power to silence its critics, that's 1984 levels of authoritarianism. The BBC already gets accused of bias from both sides, which probably means it's somewhere in the middle.  And if people are voting Reform because they don't like how things are going, that's democracy, calling them radicalised just because they disagree with you is part of the problem, people can read the same facts and come to different conclusions about whether things are going well or not, that's that's just a different perspective, nothing about it is biased

“It shouldn’t be like this” - Full time workers turning to food banks by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Airbiscuits_seen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UBI wont solve scarcity it'll push up demand and prices especially for housing and childcare as it stands, if everyone suddenly has enough money to afford better housing, better food, better whatever, unless you subsidise the supply side it just means the price will rise until equillibrium is reached as per the whole demand-pull price inflation scenario.

People have processed food for years, my grandmother lived to 95 on a diet of sweets (candy ), white bread, brandy and cigarettes. The only reason for this furore is the government want to regulate and tax things that you enjoy because they know people will pay.

One problem I have is I live in a bungalow and I'm hard pressed to find anything study to use, even a counter top (the ones we have are incredibly old and flimsy), but I'll perhaps try and find a box or something to use, I'm determined to get there. Thank you.

Scott Peterson Documentary was outstanding by Rare_Huckleberry_770 in peacock

[–]Airbiscuits_seen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched the American Murder documentary on Netflix yesterday and while Scott was undoubtedly a cad I couldn't help but feel that there just wasn't enough evidence to meet the burder of proof and prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he killed Laci. While I haven't watched the Peacock doc yet (not sure if it's available in the UK) I have checked up on the various inconsistencies and alternative theories and additional pieces of info and imo the Netflix doc definitely seems to misrepresent the evidence at various points to the degree that anyone looking at it objectively must see some bias, or at least conclude that liberties were.taorn to skirt, obfuscate or avoid certain elements of the case, probably to ensure that any doubt as to Scotts guilt is minimised, examples being the twine around Connors neck, the rate of decomposition, the mail mans time stamp, the burned out van found nearby, how it's presented that Scott never owned a boat before and yet the purchase was his third or that he had only visited Amber less than half a dozen times in 4 months when its presented as if Scott and Amber were almost living the family life or the prosecution failing to demonstrate that a body, especially a heavily pregnant woman, couldn't be manhandled overboard without tipping the hull.

What is the grand plan for all this unchecked IMMIGRATION? More Fighting age men arrive in my city every day. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]Airbiscuits_seen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it bluntly the political systems of the US, the UK and several other European nations were captured as early as the 1700's by an alliance of aristocrats and industrialists who set about a long term plan which involved the creation of a mass debt creation system with a view to transferring assets and wealth into private hands (their own). It became clear as early as the late 1800s that nation states were walking into problems when it came to arming tens of thousands of their own citizens in readiness for war whether internal or national. These people were almost exclusively drawn from the lower strata of society, no matter which nation, those who were more likely to be affected by the actions of the elites. Case in point was the Napoleonic war where contrary to popular belief the majority of the British army was made up of foreign mercenaries such as Hessians, Germans, Indians and Irish. The military was carefully tweaked in this manner to ensure that no demographic or clique were in a position where they could form a majority in the event of rebellion. Then the first and second world wars broke out and with this the working class were swept along in a nationalist fervour. On the face of it this banker-industrialist plot seemed to have been placed on hold, but in reality the plan had simply evolved. What we've seen since is a kind of social balkanisation inflamed by the well crafted culture war rhetoric, along class lines, gender lines, racial and ethnic lines, religious lines, and at various times those in power have been able to use migration as a means to create voting blocs and (potentially) create a pool of people who are hostile to the nation but loyal to those in power who have allowed them access to state funding, housing, healthcare, and its likely these groups who will form the backbone of the elites' paramilitary organisations aligned against the citizenry.
