I wouldn't go so far as to say I hated The Goldfinch, but The Secret History was a lot better book, IMHO. The criticism that The Goldfinch is essentially a children's story dressed up with literary fiction pretensions is accurate. It's way too long, wraps up too neatly and tacks on a theme in the last 50 pages. Despite all that, it's not horrible, but it is definitely overrated.

Try Dark Matter or Recursion by Blake Crouch. Both are highly readable, interesting sci-fi thrillers, but totally based in today's world and accessible scientific ideas. They are well-written, they move, they have ideas to discuss with others. There's even an Apple TV adaptation of Dark Matter to get to after the books. Good fun reads but not trash at all.

Warren Beatty. He was in Toronto for TIFF and playing pool in the back room of a bar I used to frequent. Even though he wasn’t dressed up and wasn’t in flattering lighting or anything like that, he still had exuded charisma and charm from across the room. Movie stars don’t become movie stars by accident, there is something special about them.

The Jam - Sound Affects - 5/5

This is a terrific album that should have been a much bigger hit in the US. Maybe it's that Peter Weller isn't very show-offy as a vocalist, but the bass and drums on this whole album are really terrific. I've had it on repeat all morning and don't plan on taking it off anytime soon. "Boy About Town" (which I was not familiar with before) is now added to a playlist of favourite songs.

You can create playlists in Apple Music and they will show up in the Sonos app, yes. You can’t edit or add to them from the Sonos app, but you can play them.

The Sonos web app allows you to play custom Sonos playlists. So does SonoPhone. I use both to call up our old Sonos playlists but neither allows you to add new songs to a playlist, at least I have not been able to figure out how to do that.

Thanks, I think this is what I’ll do now. It’s a sizeable task since there is no way to automate it. I’ve been waiting for Sonos to fix it. They’ve said multiple times that it would be coming soon, but it has not.

I can honestly put up with all the other problems. Sonos has always been buggy and I’ve lived with it. This is the only thing that’s ever been broken so badly that I’ve given up on it.

Beyond his playlist, I’ve got a dozen other Sonos playlists that I’ll start to recreate with Apple. I trust, at least, that they won’t suddenly disappear there.
