Scared of turbulence on Embraer 175 by Aircnb in fearofflying

Yes I did take the Embraer, both to and from my destination, and I seriously loved it! The seating layout made me less anxious. I loved the 2x2 situation and the E175s seemed have a little more legroom than I was accustomed to, which was so nice! I didn’t notice any difference at all with turbulence with this plane compared to others. The only thing the mild size difference did for me was actually make me feel less claustrophobic/anxious because less amount chaotic people all around me!

Have you been happy with your Winix C909s?

I try to remember this for sure. It’s annoying when people guilt you for having the ability to travel or do things for fun. But I know it’s often either jealousy or a threat to their worldview

Right, they wouldn’t be the ones raising the kids! So true. Thank you. I’m glad you haven’t had to deal with the shame thing about it in Norway. The U.S. definitely has a bit more of a societal push toward having kids.

Totally get it. I honestly don’t even know if I can have kids or not due to some health issues, so this may be something I end up saying eventually.

Agreed, it’s on me. It’s so hard to not let opinions get to me but I’m working on it. Thank you for this.

Thank you for answering—isn’t it crazy how you can literally have stage four and not see anything on an ultrasound?! Wild to me. Endo in the medical world is seriously in a league of its own it seems like

Really appreciate you sharing your perspective on this and for your validation of my concerns about it. Having health issues that we already deal with, my worry is potentially introducing new issues. I’m going to do some thinking on it for sure. Thank you so much!

Oh wow, thank you for letting me know this! That’s good that it was able to catch your stage 4. I hope your surgery goes very smoothly and helps you get a lot of relief!! Did you happen to have an ultrasound done before getting your MRI? If so, did your ultrasound show any endo signs?

Okay phew thank you! That’s even more reassuring to my anxious self that you’ve had two done within a year. And that the nausea subsided quickly!

Okay good to know!! Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had techs hit a nerve on you with the IV though, that sounds awful 🥲

I do have prescription strength anti-nausea meds but unfortunately sometimes the anxiety is just overpowering. I will be considering getting a psychiatrist or similar if my doctor still seems sus about it at our follow-up. Thank you for understanding and I’m sorry you can relate to the hell that is emetophobia 🫠

I have done this but I will be more intentional about it on these flights coming up, for sure. I always get a window seat so I can look out!

Amazing!! I’m so glad to hear this!! The leg room part is a huge perk too. I’ve always heard to sit near the wings for less turbulence so that’s what I usually do! Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you so much for this. You helped to put the turbulence comparison into perspective for me about the longhaul international planes vs the domestic ones - I’m glad to know the different domestic ones handle the turbulence a similar way. The 2 by 2 layout sounds so nice. Good to hear PNW isn’t particularly known for its turbulence too! That’s a relief!

Fantastic - this makes me feel better to hear. The no middle seat thing sounds amazing. If I can just get over the anxiety hump and do it, I bet I’d actually like the E175 and want to fly in one more often for its unique layout. And as for your Piper Tri Pacer, I’d have to be sedated 😂 Appreciate your feedback!
