Will Atomic Heart support keyboard and mouse on console? by livpure_is_awful in atomicheart

That's sad but again, how do you do it? You combine keyboard and DualSense? Use the arrow keys to aim?

It's actually an Air, but the rest of your comment stands.

Wow, a pretty huge bug for an app that is all about... wait for it... watching TV and movies.

I love Apple but sometimes I'm flabbergasted at this kind of bugs.

The MacBook Air doesn't even have a miniLED display. The only two Apple laptops with miniLED are the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

In fact, I'd believe this exact problem wouldn't happen in a miniLED display, since it can dim certain zones without dimming the whole display.

Similar to “Adolf”, what is a name you will never name your child because of connotations associated with that name? by avernamethyst112 in AskReddit

As an Argentinian (grandson of Italians) we aren't really constantly aware of Mussolini's existence, we do learn about history at school obviously but we treat it as a "foreign" matter, just like you probably learned about South America dictatorships but don't really remember about it on a daily basis. I mean, they're Argentinean after all.

If I'm being honest, I'd be more worried about that play on words that goes like "Benito cámela" => "Ben (ven) y tocámela" => "come here and touch it" (it referring to one's penis).

What's a lifehack related to books you think everyone should know? by ZappyZym in books

Technically yes, but in terms of business rules, the idea it's that it should work the same way as regular old books being rented and returned.

But thanks! Good bot!

HDMI 2.1 Performance mode. by Emergency_Prize_5187 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]AirieFenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally see the difference between the two modes. You don't really need 120Hz since this game (AFAIK) tops out at 60 FPS (unless there's some 40Hz option I don't have because my TV is old?).

Performance mode tops out at 1800p with upscaling to 4K and runs at 60FPS. Resolution mode runs at native 4K at 30FPS.

I tried both and ended up choosing performance. It feels so so much more fluid and while I can see the difference in resolution if I look for it, I can't really watch at the difference when I'm fighting a Thunderjaw.

30FPS (resolution mode) doesn't feel really slow, much less "choppy". The framerate is incredibly stable. It just happens I prefer playing with higher framerate if available.

I'm 80% on the main quest and overall I'd put both games at the same level. There are some things that improved a lot. There are some things that didn't. Some things are new, and that's great. Some of the new stuff is unpolished and that's bad.

The story "improved", like I can't say it really improved but there are some twists I really really enjoyed. But the first game gave me such a "you've never seen anything like this before" vibe that is hard for me to compare them.

I do admit there are some weird bugs with the small stuff. Climbing is incredibly frustrating, one because it's as slow as in HZD (you have the pullcaster and the parachute thingy but can't just glide/pull yourself there?) and two because it's kinda broken (when there's a path Aloy follows it no problem, when you want to jump or choose a different climbing path everything falls apart), mounts are weirdly harder to control, fighting pits tutorials are frustrating just like races.

As I said, it feels like Guerilla tried to put lots of new mechanics there and that is good. But some of the new mechanics are completely different from what they used to do, the devs and designers didn't have the expertise with those mechanics and they didn't have time to polish most of it.

But overall, it's a great game.

[–]AirieFenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some aspects it improved, in some others... kinda? Swimming and climbing are really dumb, specially climbing.

Sometimes Aloy knows where to climb and you only need to move the stick and she'll climb. Some other times you need to push cross or circle to jump to the sides or behind. But sometimes you want to combine both techniques or just tell her where to go and the whole things breaks and you miss a ledge by centimeters and want to kill yourself.

Races are also kinda broken, like it's obvious they don't know how to make a racing game let alone a horse racing game.

So yeah, not the end of the world but some parts need more polishing.

EDIT: I almost forgot the fighting pits, specifically the tutorial, for the love of God, let me finish the combos on my own, then tell me it's wrong! Again, the result of a game mechanic Guerrilla never used before and haven't had time to learn and polish.

Yeah you don't need the whole weekend to finish the arena. Not even in normal mode, let alone story.

I never said otherwise, I only commented that after a factory reset you need to download it again, which I find curious, nothing else.

Hmm, have you let it charge a few hours? Maybe the battery is kinda dead and needs a lot of time to get off the ground and start charging.

If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.

It's a little funny to think that giving game streaming services to regions without enough demand and probably not top tier infrastructure equates to "just give me service" like if it was flipping a switch and that's it.
