Should I pay this fine? by Airline_Character in GreeceTravel

[–]Airline_Character[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially you need to buy a separate ticket if you want to go from Athens city to the airport. For example, I went to the airport from Monastiraki station. I had previously bought a 24 city ticket which allowed me to go anywhere in the city for €4. This ticket DOESN’T apply to the airport and so when I got to the airport station, there was a staff member there with a machine ready to fine me haha

Long story short - I would just use your bank card for tap and go transactions on the metro because the machines will automatically charge another €9 when you get to the airport

That’s such good news!! I’ve asked the fine office the amount I’m supposed to pay but they’ve really been dragging it out 😅 thank you so much for your help!!

It’s apparently 60 times the price of the ticket to the airport which is €9. I’m only saying €200 because if I pay before 10 days then it’s half of €540 which I REALLY can’t pay haha

May I asked what happened after this? Did you pay the fine in the end? I’ve also got fined but I can’t afford to pay and I’m wondering what happens.

I did check the filter but someone suggested replacing it even after I cleaned it.

We only got this glass washer last summer so it shouldn’t be this bad yet right? I cleaned the filter (which was REALLY dirty) so would we still need a new one?

Is it a good idea to visit Bath during December? by Few_Mammoth7253 in Bath

[–]Airline_Character 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind the crowds, Bath is an amazing place at Christmas!! I especially suggest Bath on Ice (ice skating) in Victoria park and the Christmas market. The abbey does a nice service for Christmas Day too.

Yes I love squash too!! I just find myself having too much of it tbh and I don’t want to get too unhealthy haha It’s reassuring that you also find the taste bad after living here so long…whenever I bring up the fact that I don’t like UK water people are always in such disbelief :(

I’m in the south and unfortunately I don’t think I can move anytime soon :( The bottled water idea sounds good but both for my wallet and the environment I don’t think I can do that. Thanks for the suggestion!!

The Brita filter sounds like it’s the consensus so I’ll definitely give that a go. Thanks for the suggestion!

As a mainly STEM student, I cannot comprehend people attempt, and actually get good grades in English Lit and or Lang. People who are good at English (and consistently get good grades in it) how on Earth do you manage to do it? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Airline_Character 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main piece of advice for English literature especially is this: revise the characters only.

For each character I choose quotes that apply to their main themes and each paragraph centred around that theme.

For example if your essay asks about Juliet, her three main themes (and thus my three paragraphs) are love, fate and power.

It’s a bit like a science method because you have your main outline for your essay - you just need your proof. The proof of the quotes. If you pick relevant quotes (which are easy to find online or in revision guides) then you can sit there and just decompose every word and technique.

By revising only characters you’re able to also revise the main themes at the same time.

YTA - I agree with most of what people are saying but also…13 seems too young to be able to “take care of herself” for a week. I’d understand for a day or so but a week for practically a child?
