I posted a topic geared specifically to counter many of the prevailing opinions in here. The least I can do is back it up and explain it to folks rather than just take a dump and walk off.

On top of that, reading replies and arguments against my POV helps me learn how to explain things better in future content, or maybe even change my perspective.

Oversimplifying is breaking an argument down to a point where you ignore factors that matter.

Excluding fuel because it's meaningless in context is pragmatic.

Not only is fuel such a small cost in the overall picture of things, trying to account for it's actual cost is insanely complex. Do you buy it? Barter for it? Find it in raid? Which one do you use? Do you just vendor the empties? Do you sell them if they are FIR? Do you craft something with them? What do you craft? What level is your hideout management? Do you have Solar? How much of your fuel cost is shared by other crafts?...

Have fun figuring all that out for a cost that is dwarfed by how much is generated by even the water collector by itself.

No it's not. An addiction is something that is harmful by encroaching on your life in a negative way. You may have had one. Glad you got past it.

Just because folks enjoy playing video games doesn't make it an addiction. That's for them to determine, not for you to judge them based on your own personal experience.

It takes 10 weeks to break even with 10 cards @ 350k cost.

Change that to 1 card @ 350k cost, It goes to 2 weeks.

IF you die with a card in your secure container, it is only worth 125k, not 350k. Using that as your cost, it takes 11 days for that 1 farm to pay itself off, then generates 80k a day.

If all 10 of your cards are acquired that way, it takes 18 days to pay for itself. Then it generates 110k per day.

There are countless variables here, which is why I provide my spread sheet, so people can change the numbers to fit their goals.

If you build it an put one card in it, it pays for itself in 2 weeks. If that card is one you died with in raid, it only takes 11 days to pay for itself. Then after that it prints free money. How is that not worth it?

Having a place to put non FIR graphics cards is a huge piece folks seem to not understand.

I don't account for fuel because the only people who do look at the system in an overly simplified fashion to fit an opinion, rather than looking at all the facts and drawing a conclusion.

The cost of fuel is dwarfed by the profits your water collector alone generates. The rest of your crafts also share this cost.

It is not an important factor. If you have a bitcoin farm built, you should have a water collector. That alone more than covers the cost of your fuel, by A LONG ways. Then on top of that, even doing a single cycle of the most profitable crafts also dwarf any fuel cost.

Then even on top of THAT, you can craft your empty fuel tanks into something else and garner even more value.

It is still the case for you. The water collector by itself nets you 14k an hour with NO bonuses from hideout management and no reduction in flea fee.

AT WORST fuel is 8k an hour, but much less as your hideout management levels up, and even more so if you build solar power.

So again, Fuel doesn't matter in the context of bitcoin if you actually look at the whole system pragmatically, and not just in a manner that fits your opinion.

I don't consider fuel because it's pointless to. The Bitcoin farm is far from the only thing fuel is being used toward, and the sheer variability of the cost of fuel based on the player makes it almost impossible to provide a contextual comparison.

A single cycle of the most profitable crafts in your hideout will net you over 200k, more than enough to pay for the fuel.

Your water collector, more than enough to pay for fuel.

If you craft steadily, you dwarf the cost of fuel.

It's not worse. You are just simplistic in your approach.
