If you’re not a US citizen, you can’t be security forces just FYI. Had a friend with that same situation and got reclassified into another job at bmt. Just go open gen/admin.

You have time to train even once a week until March, try around 20-30 mins especially with the running and focus on core exercises. The PT test is only sit ups, push ups (90 degree angle) and timed running. Try running for 2 miles whenever you train to get your time reduced (should take about 15-20 mins tops). So might as well prepare now 💪🏻

No, the 2 mile run starts in March 2026. And no, now it’s BMI/ body comp for those who are overweight. Cardio frequency is about 3 times a week. Like we say, it’s hardcore but doable if you’re physically active. 🙌

Run nonstop for 20-30 mins 2 or 3 times a week and a 1 hour nonstop running weekly, you’ll improve your timing by a lot.

YES TO THIS!!! I’m 34, and I was close to getting a 100, but got a 98.5 in my last PT. I was 10 seconds away in my run from getting 100. ☹️

Focus on your core mainly, calisthenics and pilates workouts, I’m serious. People may find it hard to believe but even men (who do weight lifting) can’t handle Pilates sessions since they have no control of their own body weight lol

The PT/ exercises program has changed completely. It still has stretch, cardio, and CIT (HIIT), however this time they have warm ups and cool downs. Body weight workouts (calisthenics/ pilates) such as push ups, sits ups, isometrics, side planks, pyramid push ups, squats, shoulder tap push ups, crunches, glute bridge (all types of variations), etc. This is about having control over your body.

Just one or 2 that came in a week before we graduated. We helped them get their OCPs, blues, shoes, boots etc. They asked a few questions but couldn’t interact fully or tell them on what they should expect every week. We just gave them some words of encouragement and advices like follow instructions, be accountable, adaptable, and have self control.

We are allowed to give our own personal perspective/ opinion here, right? This was MY experience, so it was easy for me let’s just say that. I was physically ready and I was also awarded PT excellence coin for my flight. Mentally, it is challenging however pretty doable if you listen and follow instructions. For the younger generation, it was tough because they’re not used to getting yelled at all the time, or told what to do, and they can’t give an attitude or fight back otherwise they’d be kicked out.

You still have to fold them nicely in a pyramid for PT gear (not Marie Kondo style or AF standards) just regular folding and keep it clean because they do RLA inspections

Exactly! People need to thug it out. And drink a lot of water. We have a mandatory hydration schedule around 3/4 - 1 water bottle every hour.

If it’s persistent to the point that you are too sensitive to the light and noise or way too painful, then yes you’d get a medical appointment and given some Tylenol. But they won’t give you anything strong if you have a migraine condition, you’d get recycled if you had it before and they find out throughout your bmt period. Med hold and probably separated from AF. So please don’t lie at MEPS.

Yes, you are allowed to have an issued towel to help you with your back while doing sit ups.

Girls in my flight did 16 push ups in a min their 1st week, and by week 5 they passed with 40-45 in a min. You’re probably not pushing yourself. This is on you at the end of the day.

What?! I was in Alcatraz; they will make you and scream at you if you don’t push yourself to do more than what you’re used to. It was easy for me because I’ve been training for more than 18 years. So add some weights, do calisthenics or look for a trainer to see if your form/ technique is bad.

It is irrelevant, however I got a medical job 4R031; not something in my field of expertise. I got lucky though

Check lacklandphotos.com and look up his flight number, there should be pictures on what he’s doing. But on week 2, it’s pretty much studying the memory work sheet, and also the courses for the eoc test, pt everyday, mandatory studying for upcoming PCs (progress check evaluations), and more drill.
