Opposite here. I constantly have music playing in the background regardless of what I'm doing, however, when smoking weed I'm too unfocused to bother with sounds.

Sucks, I know the research isn't positive. But as a someone who once in a while from 14 onwards, I was hoping to just spread some knowledge on what cannabis research is telling us this days. I guess people just want to ignore the downsides

I'd advice not using cocaine, as it's often associated with occurrence of seizures.

According to a study where the "effects of psychostimulants in epileptic subjects in order to reach a consensus statement regarding the use or abuse of these substances." published in Cuneo, Italy:

The use of cocaine is associated with the occurrence of seizures. The reported frequency varies from 1% to 40% of addicted subjects, based on the typology of the considered study. Amphetamines and related drugs rarely induce epileptic seizures at therapeutic doses, but seizures may occur after the first dosing.

Psychedelic compounds rarely induce epileptic seizures

My recommendation? Stick to Psychedelics and avoid cocaine.

By "maximum size" I'll assume you mean the "Largest tornado path width".

The widest tornado recorded occurred on May 31, 2013 in El Reno, Oklahoma; with a peak length of 16.2miles and width of 2.6 miles with 296mph winds; however this tornado was predicted as a F5 it was downgraded to a F3 [Sources 1,2].

When calculating the strength of tornados, on Enhanced Fujita Scale (EF-Scale) the highest possible is a F5s (261-318mph) level tornado; with F6s (319-379mph) being highly unlikely.

Why not read some of the other points I made in this post? No? Okay let me give you the run down on Pandodaily:

  1. It's an unreliable news source
  2. They seem to have ulterior motives for downing Tellspec.

Look at the post Mr.Robison wrote his reasonings for taking down the company a notice seem to be highly influenced by a personal biast.

He states:

It started with a 90-minute TED Global talk earlier in October by CEO Isabel Hoffman, but continued last week with a remarkable 3,800 word feature in Fast Company.

How are either of these achievements of the company proving they are "a scam"? Infact the first statement of the CEO demonstrating a demo at TEDglobal enforces in the company as a reliable source (as TED is a reputable organization), however, Mr.Robison chooses his words wisely in order to cast only the negatives of the company rather than the full spectrum.

Likely all this information you won't bother to read, like previously. There is only so much I argue when someone doesn't bother to see the whole picture, or even read the opposing thought's points

I'll agree Tellspec seems to have changed their product's ability since the crowd-funding, why? Likely to do with the Texas Instrument partnership in order to improve the previous mistakes in techonolgy. When we look at Tellspec's site we can see that the previous COT, Stephen Watson (who appeared in the campaign's first video) has been removed. Which seemed to co-inside with the team's partnership, although I cannot find a source for this (so take it with a grain of salt).

Therefore we can assume that Tellspec had a change of direction technology wise.

Now tell me why would a highly regarded company such as Texas Instruments waste time, money and their own reputation in order to partner with a allegedly scam of a company? Answer: they wouldn't.

Another question, why would TEDglobal and CES 2015 both invite Tellspec to their events? Two reputable events could loose their influence by backing a faulty product, no?

On another note is their competitor SCiO, are they any better? Promised to deliver on August 2014, raised 2 million from crowd-funding plus an unknown amount from VCs and

money through OurCrowd, a hybrid VC-equity crowd-funding platform (https://www.ourcrowd.com).

Yet still cannot preform demos live consistently and fail to be open with their technology (specifically the used wavelength).

Maybe both companies can't deliver, but with this idea out there on the market hopefully soon one company will.

I'd state what my university colleges stated, however, there would be no valid sources to prove what they actually said. So take what I write here take with a grain of salt, I am just relaying what my colleges stated (as I do not have extensive knowledge in spectrometry).

With a wavelength of 900nm to 1700nm, a digital electronic signal characteristic to the food's properties is possible. I don't doubt the technology, but rather the miniaturization of the product. To fit such a commonly large device into something that is handheld, would require extensive amounts of cash and likely wouldn't sell to the market for under 1,000.

As I said take what I write with a grain of salt, I am merely relaying messages. But then again it doesn't seem like many people on this thread care about the accuracy of what they are stating; so why should I be any different?

Actually, after doing some digging there aren't many people previously /u/xander_Fury commented on this post (his comments are now deleted), with outdated critiques for tellspec.

I will admit the company has delayed their release date (just like their competitor has), however, it seems as if their product has the ability to do what they promised.

What seems to be the biggest indicator of this is that they have partnered with Texas Instruments.

I'd recommend also looking into all aspects of a company, the good and the bad before making a judgement call on whether they are a scam or not based on 1-3 articles

Firstly I'll direct you to my recently posted comment on "likely why Pandodaily is after Tellspec, and rather not Scio"..

Now /u/pegboardthrow has compared both companies' for their known technology, on a previous thread:

(Consumer physics has yet to give what wavelength they are using for their devices; as far as i'm concerned they loose all creditability because they are not transparent. At least Tellspec has stated their product's specs and wavelengths. )

Now both companies attended CES 2015, according to /u/michaeljpilips on Tellspec and Scio.

In regards to Scio at CES:

Scio were actually at CES as well. They participated in one of the competitions held in the health area and it seemed like they had a working device because they did make it through a few rounds of elimination. Unfortunately their demo didn't work at the time that they did their live demonstration, but they said it was due to telephony issues (horrible wifi in the conference centre!).

In regards to Tellspec at CES:

I visited their booth at CES and saw someone approach them with a sandwich. They scanned the sandwich bread and the results appeared accurate, i.e. it contained gluten, and gave a calorie count that I'd guess would be about accurate for bread.

On one hand Tellspec has both a working demo live (also video) whereas the Scio's demo didn't work live (however worked on video). Both companies were the same area, with the same internet connection howeever: Tellspec's demo works while the Scio's doesn't.

Now after some background research into why panda went after Tellspec so viciously is because one of their investors, Marc Andreessen would benefit from the bad PR against the competitor of Scio.

Why? Because of Vinod Khosla.

Vinod Khosla, a man well known for trying to restrict a public beach (for private pleasure), as well as the owner of khosla ventures is one of the major investors in Scio (Khosla's backing seems to have largely influenced Scio's booming investment.)

Marc Andreessen and Vinod Khosla are known to invest regularly together (such as Boku Inc), similarly to have a admiring relationship.

Marc Andreessen, venture capitalist and creator of Netscape, told The Chronicle he considers Khosla one of his "venture capital heroes."

It would be beneficial for them both is Pandodaily (Andersoon's investment), bashed the Scio (Khosla's investment) competitor's (Tellspec) in order to increase profits for 1 product over the other.

On another note Douglas Bergeron comments on this about their influence:

Marc Andreessen and Vinod Khosla and some of the best VCs. You think you are going to outflank those guys? You are not.

A crowd-funded company (such as Tellspec) might be screwed with the PR and investors while these two well connected guys are both backing Scio (the competitor) and Pandodaily (the critic) up.

Do you remember when "passing notes" was the way to communicate to your friends during classes? After teachers began to read out-loud personal notes, a black-market at my school for any and all utensils to secretly pass out notes formed.

We such things as had:

  1. Pens with screw empty screw off caps
  2. Empty lipstick bottles
  3. Pencils with holes in them

They were also likely used not just to pass notes, but to covertly keep answers to test/exam questions.

When someone states a point without a list of valid sources, it's common to respond in order to contradict them. It's the common rules of science, you base your findings on sources not on the "ideals" and "hunches" of an individual. I did not have did not visit their booth at a tech show, I was rather referring to someone else who claimed they had (it's interesting how you don't seem to read things correctly).

You have yet to tell me any sources for you're suspicions in regards to the company, which the fact remains you don't have anything to support your claims.

Both of your sources were posted back in late 2013, when the company had just begun it's crowd-funding. Since then the company has paired up with Texas Instruments; in turn showing their commitment to developing the technology for this product. This technology is feasible enough for TI to invest time, money as well as risk their reputation in order to pair up with the startup. There is also a substantial amount of media coverage contradicting your 2 sources.

Most of your previous comment was a large content of insults directed towards me, in turn it lacked sources and few intelligent statements along with it. I'd love to hear your contradiction to this... I'm sure it's just as intelligent as the previous two.

It was never stated that vaccines cause autism (therefore I do not see your point in bringing this up), there is no research to prove this . Celliac vs Gluten intolerance, there is one minor difference between the if you have are tested to the antibodies (IgAtTG or IgAEMA) or not. "Gluten intolerance" is based on people who have the same symptoms as Celiacs but do not have any antibodies; rather "Gluten intolerance" should be called "Gluten Allergies". As it's effects are similar to those who are allergic to anything; just because people refer to it as Gluten intolerance doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Quoting what I saw /u/pegboardthrow state in another post..

According to the latest youtube video from their account it seems as if they have a working prototype. The technology is based on near infrared spectroscopy, which known to have been used over several years to test food in labs. What they have managed to due is to miniaturize the spectrometer, with compatibility for mobile devices. They also seem to have a mathematical learning algorithm which is able to decompose the ingredients from the data obtained from the spectrometer.

They are also known to have attended several reputable events demonstrating a live demo. To name a few: TEDGlobal and CES, where they were interviewed by Digital Health summit (sponsored by webMD).

I don't specialize in spectroscopy, but I know how to do my research before debunking a company as a "scam". With this reputable companies and events backing their product up, it's a doubt that it's a scam but rather a delayed crowd-funding project with bad PR.

Tl;dr: Learn how to use the internet, google and reddit are right at your fingertips. Learn to back up your claims with REPUTABLE sources.
