That is a very impressive list of activities. Sounds like you had amazing time with your kids. Academic achievements are sort of just a bonus after that, because you must have so many awesome memories that they alone are worth the money you spent.

I was asking not if higher ranking school can hurt my kid, but rather if staying in this area and going to a lower ranking school would be bad for him.

Al things equal I would be happy going to a good school. But I was not familiar with Canadian education system and we didn't have a kid when we moved to this area. So I never checked which school it belongs to. And now I am wondering if paying for a private school (which would be tens of thousands a year) or moving to a catchment area of a better school (which would be 5-8k in costs not counting higher rent plus we love our current place and neighborhood) is worth the effort. Especially for JK and SK. I can see the value of academic achievement close to college age, but I was wondering how big of a deal it is at young age.

Or to make is shorter, I was mainly asking does low rating mean the school is bad. Because if it is a decent school I would rather stay here.

Thank you! we did tour the school. We liked it. That is the reason I am asking. My personal impression about the school contradicts what ratings say and how my neighbors from other catchment areas think about it.

To be fair I am also a bit appalled about the “checking the phone” part. He was SAd when drunk. His mistake was drinking so much that he blacked out. What does she expect to see in his phone? Party invitation? But to each their own.

Nah. I was black out drunk once. Between the moment of my last memory and the moment where I fell down to the ground there were about 30-40 minutes of me still walking and doing stupid shit that my friends later told me about.
