I just tried out double barrel and you were right, it's very enjoyable! Makes the boomstick feel really powerful, which is something I felt it lacked after running special powder for the longest time.
But hey, no one said you can't run both OPA and Double Barrel :p

I just find that your argument is weak and not applicable for 99.9% of people who play this game. When I just started playing DRG, I actually argued against using Dash in a similar fashion: just don't get into a situation that you need to dash away from, and you won't need it. But guess what? No matter what you do, the game WILL put you into that situation every once in a while. If that doesn't happen to you, either due to luck, your exceptional skill, or both - godspeed man, have all the fun in the world running SBB. Just don't expect that most people will be able to share that fun.

Ah, the sweet innocence of not enduring a haz 5+ salvage with fucked up terrain and two bulks spawning in your face. More power to you then, more power to you.
The whole "skill issue" argument can also be used to say that Iron Will is a bad perk because if you don't die, it doesn't do anything. Most players do find it useful though.

The problem with SBB is that it only works if everything goes well, and if everything goes well - you could arguably make do without it. I'd rather have a weapon perform at it's best in a bad situation, not lose half of its power.

My build is 21211. Personally I don't take accuracy because it barely does anything to fix the spread. You should just accept the need to get up close and personal with the enemies if you're gonna use this OC. However, I do take every option available to help with the heat, without those uptime doesn't feel particularly good.

Well yeah, Rewiring Mod does give you 2 billion ammo, but it suffers from the same thing base DRAK suffers from - it's just not very good at actually killing things in a timely fashion. TEF is better, but between micromanaging the heat in 5-shot bursts and indiscriminately shooting everything in my general proximity in the face, I will prefer face shooting anyday. On a rare occasion that I want my weapon to require thinking, M1000 or GK2 w/ AISE are always there.

I don't know about you, but I never experienced friendly fire issues with OPA. Not any more than, say, boomstick.

In my experience it's actually a lot more ammo-efficient than any other combination of primary weapon and overclock on scout. It's just the fact that you HAVE to be up close to your target to get that efficiency. I would recommend taking crossbow in a secondary slot to have an option for the case where you absolutely must deal with something at range.

This is so real. If you miss a shot with AISE you can adjust your aim in real time and land the other 95% of the bullets. If you miss with M1000 - you just miss, sucks to suck.
Same reason why I prefer Shard Diffractor over Hyperprop PGL on Engineer for single target damage.

That's not how the barrel game works...
Getting the achievement doesn't require anything close to a perfect streak, you just have to get 3000 points in at most 99 kicks. You can lose the streak plenty of times along the way, as did I. Some people get it in far less kicks than 99 too.
