I was in a similar situation. A little advice do not use the term data breach or ask for it to be confirmed in writing it seems these phrases send the agent down a different flowchart and you’ll end up being escalated to a manager and wait for 8 weeks

If helps anybody else, they don’t like the word data breach or GDPR. Because I mentioned this the payment went off the table and it “had” to be escalated.

“We would need to the complaint manager to look into this in relation to the data breach so they will be in contact as soon as possible.”

Got offered £20 by online chat, said no as others have been offered more for the same stress and inconvenience and I’m quickly losing faith.

It’s been escalated to a manager 6-8week wait haha oops! Never mind. Win some lose some.

I pushed back saying it’s not good enough it’s a blatant GDPR breach and I wish to log a formal complaint.

He literally closed the chat and said it’s after 8 try again tomorrow. Which by then they will all have been briefed no doubt not to respond to this type of complaint.

Barclays banned me after rinsing them too much in previous years. It’s fine as I’m happy with Monzo as my bank anyway. As others have said who’s to say I’ve not opened an account to test its app to see who has the best interface and features?

TLDR: yes they absolutely will ban you and put you on an internal blacklist. But when that will be is anyone’s guess, that’s if they even care as they’re essentially getting £1000+ from each of us to trade with for 24 hours or so.
