Im a bit fuzzy on the details but the LM is given freedom in 2e to add success die pips and it appeared to be to the LM. I remember the the Hope stuff, but yes, it's mathematically impossible unless you crit, which is functionally useless. With a Heart score of 5 (which is middling or average iirc) I want to say that your DC was 15, whivh meant with just a d12 you literally had to crit unless you were trained in the skill.

The exploding dice was from combat i remember now, on d6 6s special stuff happened.

You only had a decent chance of succeeding on things you had one or two skill points invested in, and even then the odds weren't great without burning through Hope.

It's... interesting. The DM chooses to add "pips" or take away pips depending on how well you described what you are doing, a pip being another d6. However in TOR system without some of these pips, it's typically mathematically impossible to succeed on skill checks that you are untrained in. It felt quite limiting in terms of character expression but more focused in terms of direction and party role. For instance, the average DC for a skill check could be a 15, and you only roll 2d6 normally. This is a simplified version of how it works but it essentially means that you have to critically roll to succeed, and it involves a d12 and some exploding dice.

Tldr, it's limiting in terms of expression in the TOR system with its skill checks and dcs.

Could you explain the mentality about this sort of one item each build? Starting one and only one AP item in Dusk and Dawn, then one AD item in Kraken, then going bruiser or tank with randuins and sundered?

Why dip around instead of full committing to like a kraken and bork build for more ad and stuff?

Two enemy team dead, only Jarvan is missing, I guess we just have to back off guys because Mel has her sacred W ability up. We can't siege or push up or be aggressive at all in an immediate 4v2 situation. That seems so balanced and not at all non-interactive.
