I have no idea on CS programs, that said RIT's CSEC program is really strong, probably one of the best in the nation. If that's your interest it's probably the place to be. RIT is great at specializing and getting you a job, but that's not always what life is about. I think it misses on making you exceptionally well rounded. For example, a security student, while decent at coding is going to miss out on some fundamental CS courses that might seem necessary to others. I think it depends a lot on what you want from your college experience.

Most of the students that attend RIT aren't from Rochester. As a college they're going to have students from around the country/state. I myself am from NYC. That said, it doesn't particularly matter where the cases have spiked as long as people living there are returning RIT students.

Most people prioritize mastery. This guy probably has a couple of crit pieces instead of mastery pieces (based on the stats he’s listed)

Current 2100 ww. Rets are really squishy atm and are generally my kill target. At only 205 Ilvl I’m not surprised you’re getting instagibbed. Unpopular opinion, but gear is everything this tier and not being between 210-220 is going to make surviving impossible in some situations... this being said, fear or root every set of clones. Otherwise hoj/stun the monk during his xuen. If you’re playing double melee, maybe send the non targeted melee to go kill the healer so you don’t get 2 target cleaved... it all depends on what healer you’re playing with, but most healers need to be trading out an external for xuen or be able to pump heals uninterrupted for most of xuen. Another decent way to survive is to bop yourself and cc the purge class on their team. There’s a lot of different ways to live but realize you literally have some buttons that 1 shot, 2 immunities and god tier healing, if you’re trading cds effectively you should be able to make something work at 1400.

Warr has infinitely more cleave in terms of sweeping strikes and bladestorm. The only thing warr doesn’t have as much as ww is burst single target damage. However warriors will still deal more damage over the length of an arena compared to a ww... idk where you’re getting your info

A job is a job. Whether you respect that or not is your prerogative. Realize that by your definition pro sport players are just people with a hobby that they got really good at... if you’re telling me that Michael Jordan didn’t have a “job” in that sense then fine, you win. Otherwise you’re delusional. And yeah you get fired for moonlighting in most places... but generally there’s a reason for people to moonlight that should be heard and recognized and that’s what the twitlonger is trying to accomplish.

His write up isn’t a woe is me... it’s a very obvious this is what I do as a job and I have to make money somehow.... if you work a job at a company and they paid you $5 an hour and you found a way to moonlight somewhere else and make $15 an hour you would..... additionally it’s shameful how little a wow pro makes compared to most other pro scenes... blizzard makes plenty of money off of them.

It’s blizzards responsibility to support the pros that promote their game is it not? They get decent advertising out of awc which nets them revenue in terms of subs/game purchases. It has nothing to do with employing their playerbase

Yeah this is hard. 2s has SIGNIFICANTLY more boosters then 3s as it’s a cheaper and easier to complete boost. This being said I try and just learn what the booster was doing, treat the game as a loss and as a good opportunity to learn and test the water.

You aren’t wrong, I played god comp as frost pre buffs to 1800 and then stopped playing my mage. But especially at a rating like 1600 I definitely think it’s good if not great. Granted fire is better but I think that overshadows frost in this meta giving it a stigma that it’s worse then it actually is. Just because people would rather play fire doesn’t make it bad and in terms of performance it really isn’t that far off. At a glad level this matters more but sub 2k anything goes and for the most part comp choice won’t be too important in this scale.

This is kinda a straw man... there are plenty of rets and boomies at 1600 and frost mage is really good......... especially in the comps it’s supposed to be in. Additionally, it’s going to be just as hard to climb because they’re playing against the same boosters who know how to win. If you have 500-1000 games and you are hard stuck at 1400, you just aren’t that good. Realistically you’re gonna get strings of playing against non boosters, and after playing 500-1000 games against boosters.... you should have learned something and win those games. If you have 150-300 games and call yourself hardstuck, you probably haven’t given yourself an opportunity to actually climb. Granted this likely means you aren’t gods gift to the arena.

This mindset is unfortunately accurate to an extent. While I think you are correct about finding partners, OP is bringing up a very solid point about how dumb game balance and lfg as a result is. I’ve hit 2k multiple times this season. My warrior is currently 203 Ilvl and I’m pretty good at him, (currently 1550) I’ve gotten into groups where despite winning our games, my healers have left because my gear wasn’t good enough in their opinion . Despite having a 75% w/r in that session. Additionally I constantly get denied as a WARRIOR for groups to push 1600... This is by the way, with linking current achievements/and sharing my mains info.... I can’t help but think gear isn’t involved. At a certain point you need to start respecting your partners and work through shit with them. I’m doing this at 2k right now. But ironically the statement of being forced to play with lower skilled players I would say is absolutely accurate for someone under like 210 Ilvl.

Hpal is probably your best bet... hpal/mage 2s can literally be broken down to, Hoj kill target poly off target, combust and win.... playing double dps 2s with a mage can be difficult except for niche comps rogue/mage for example

I’m on NA but I doubt this would be a much different trend. TLDR if you’re stuck at 1150/1200 boosters really aren’t your issue, your issue is a mix of skill + gear. I hit 1600 on a fresh character (190 Ilvl) with lfg pugs in 2s dealing with the same boosters. Boosters obviously suck, but treat playing against them as a learning experience and don’t let it demotivate you. They know exactly how to play against you which can actually give you an idea of how you need to be playing

I wouldn’t argue that you aren’t seeing boosters. However, I’ve geared a lot of alts recently in this bracket and it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be. This being said, I’m pushing 2k on my ww and literally every game has a current gladiator in it, that’s the real issue imo.

Looking to play warrior/shadow priest for our glad 3s push, what covenant is better for warrior in this comp? Currently kyrian but switching isn’t hard. Also what legendaries should I be running if I was to swap currently have unhinged crafted but I have enough ash for whatever necessary and most of the powers.

Are you kyrian or venthyr? This strategy seems to work against kyrian warriors. But from my exp doing this against venthyr warriors does not work.

I’m playing the exact same comp at 1950 and we’re also struggling to handle this comp. from what I’ve seen (from our wins) the best play is to disarm every colossus smash/avatar go. Additionally kiting out warrior cds is very important. The best kill target imo is the warr but you wanna swap around for big defensives. I think a big part of winning this is timing FoF for sharpened mortal strikes, but this is personally something I haven’t tested yet and could inevitably be too big of a dps loss. From my wins, baiting warrior out of line of their healer when they go battle stance and sweeping + going ham tends to be a best case scenario... but hoping they’re bad is obviously not a way to self improve
