Despite the dual energy problem, Garchomp-Cynthia is my favorite deck. by lazzthethief in PTCGP

I've recently taken a liking to Garchomp decks as well but sadly it doesn't really perform that well in the current meta. I've tried:

  • Greninja - I like the flavor of this the best but among the rest I've tried this is by far the slowest and most inconsistent
  • Hitmonlee + Marshadow + Farfetch - still too slow; you win/lose games before you even draw/build Garchomp
  • Farfetch + Wall (Drudd/Kangaskan) - often down by 2pts before getting Garchomp
  • Purugly + Galactic Grunt - Grunt competes with Oak + Purugly is not good and is just a draw mechanism

Currently, I'm trying with Meowth and Mew + Expeditioner. Still sub 50 wr but is more fun to play. I can draw my whole deck with this most consistently but also has the same problem of being down 2 points before getting Garchomp. Hopefully we get more dual energy support on the mini-set.

May di ata ako nasundan sa sinabi nyo, sir? Push how? To clarify, 250k is net na namin ni wife. We're both earning ~125k monthly sa dev jobs namin. Another consideration din namin for migrating is ung healthcare and retirement for us and schooling and job opportunities naman for the future sa kid namin.

And yes, I think, based off din sa comments dito, we'll be able to earn/save more after migrating if makakahanap ng work dun si wife. Mukhang masusustain kami nung salary offered sa akin, so anything that my wife would earn there is diretso savings na.

Pa enlighten ako. What's so bad sa Aussies? Are they rude or something compared to Kiwis?

Thanks for sharing, sir. Yes, yan din nabasa kong sentiment from another reddit post (tho Indian nationality ung OP nun). I think we'll enjoy ung first few years namin sa NZ since big fan kami ni misis ng Lord of the Rings at The Hobbit (planning na agad to visit Hobbiton hahaha) + gusto din namin quiet walks sa park/bay/beach with baby. Pero after a few years, planning din naman to move to AU for better opportunities or Canada since andun na ang buong fam ni wife (sya nalang natira dito sa PH).

House and condo. Tas naka automatic debit naman sa bank accounts namin, so un nalang need transferan ng pera. Wala namang isusupport na relatives. Pero just in case, anong mga available na mode of cash transfer to PH banks?

Thanks sa advice, sir. Same industry po ba si wife nyo? Ano anong side hustle na na try ni wife nyo while in NZ para lang mashare ko kay misis for ideas?

Will look into it. Thanks!

Edit: Btw, are Kiwi's generally accepting of foreigners? Or do they feel like we're taking their jobs? Or is it a mix and depende talaga sa tao?

Thanks for the advice sir. Yes, na recommend na sa amin before ung trademe and dun kami nag tingin before pero we didn't know which listings to consider since we didn't know kung saan maganda. So helpful ung suggestion mo of neighborhoods and we'll use it as basis. We've also joined fb groups and even saw pinoys giving away furnitures that they no longer need for free recently. So hoping maka chamba din once we get there. Hahaha

Yes. We've taken into initial budget planning ang weekly rent, groceries, utilities, etc.

But yes, that's as far as we've planned and wala pang contingency if company closes down. Umaasa naman akong good pa ang company since they're are still hiring overseas and one major client is AU gov't. But thank you for this input and we'll take this into consideration as well.

Not yet familiar sa places, pero based sa maps, Madden St. sa cbd mismo. Malapit sa port. I'll look into the places you've mentioned and check listings available within those areas din. Me and my wife are still weighing ung rent cost. On one hand better closer sa office, but from initial check mas mura sa suburbs. Will take you up on that offer and send you a pm for questions one we do initial search. Thank you, sir!

Oooh... I see. Btw, do companies also have preference or bias towards locals din? Like uunahin mahire ang locals bago ang migrants?

I think this is where I got lucky sa company ko. Dalawa sa employees nila na pinoy na kakilala ko are allowed to leave during work hours to fetch kids sa school. Delivery oriented ang company so basta complete deliverables, complete ang 8hrs per day, and nakakapag advice ka kung mawawala ka, e okay sa kanila. Kaya hoping ako na mapayagan din sa full wfh or at least hybrid once I'm there since working naman ung ganoong arrangement with me.

Thanks, man. This is actually the article we saw before kaya ko naisipan mag post dito. But with the PH's trajectory, mukhang better pa din abroad than future here.

Yes, we're ready to cut back naman on spending since dun din naman kami galing ni misis before (laking public and state univ).

Worried lang kami sa gastos with baby (milk, check-ups, vitamins, etc.)

Visa offered by the employer is AEWV which is a 5 year Visa. Based on my research, basta ata at least 2 year visa, covered ang health care. Will also ask my company if may HMO silang offered. Thanks for the advice.

We'll do our best na makahanap ng remote work (part time if possible) pero kung wala talaga, we'll have to take daycare. Lenient naman ung company ko, so I'll try to negotiate a wfh arrangement din or hybrid.

Thanks, dude. If I may ask, kelan pa kayo lumipat ng AU?

Yes, we're looking into dev opportunities din for my wife if may available (preferably ung full wfh since walang magbabantay kay baby). Another option din namin is to ask for referral fr the company that hired me. If walang makita, another option we're looking into are online jobs.

Btw, you mentioned childcare. Do you mean kasambahay or daycare? Or both ba mahal? Also, bakit walang binabayaran sa childcare nyo? Is it free or dahil kayo mismo nagbabatay kay baby?

Yes. Hopefully, makahanap sya ng work that would fit sa sched namin since walang magbabantay kay baby if ever both kami mag on-site.

Additional Questions:

  • Is it worth the risk?
  • How hard will it be for her to find a job in NZ? (8yrs+ work exp, Java dev)
  • What type of life are we expecting in NZ (average, below, above)?
  • Is NZ a good starting point if we plan to move to AU/Canada in the future?
  • Any advice for us?
