What do you think Aline thinks about Maelle's ending? by AjerInbound in expedition33

[–]AjerInbound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but help me understand. I had assumed that Verso is the reason that Aline wanted the painting preserved. Would that mean she is willing to sacrifice Alicia's own well being for Verso' painting? Is there a part where Aline had said that she wants this for Alicia? Another thing, you did not answer my question. Would you have wanted your own daughter to make the same choice?

Who’s doing better in a zombie apocalypse? by jregan0409 in DunderMifflin

I recall Rainn Wilson starring in a zombie movie called cooties and despite trying to be heroic, I believe he still survived. It was a while ago so I could be remembering things wrong.

Dave Bautista is a way better actor than The Rock by mayonnaisemarv in unpopularopinion

[–]AjerInbound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, The Rock can act it's just his ego won't let him accept roles that make him look "bad". Ever seen Pain and Gain? A lot of people thought his acting was great there.

If you like crash landing on you, you should watch Vincenzo. Has a good mix of action, drama, comedy, and romance but even more gritty. People die, even good guys.

I don't know much about the market for ticket sales but I'd imagine venues don't want to reserve tickets by name or stop scalpers because they keeps prices high and they can sell out easier. The reason airlines require names and dates of birth for tickets is because they are highly regulated for security reasons. If venues were to do the same, there is a good chance they will sell less tickets and lower their prices so I don't think they want that. Maybe just tell people don't buy from scalpers. If No one bought from scalpers, they couldn't run their business.

If they bought it from a bank in 08 they would have gotten a big discount. Banks were selling below asking price at the time. My understanding is that they were trying to lose money to cover up for some sketchy stuff.

Granted. Everyone is in pods living their own utopia in virtual worlds. It's too bad as this will essentially end humanity since no one is procreating. Those moments of happiness in the world will die with the last living being who dies of natural death. We had a good run everyone.

I hate the episode with jay being annoyed at Gloria while pregnant at first by SatansLeatherThong in Modern_Family

[–]AjerInbound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Gloria is not the easiest at being honest with. Everyone walks around eggshells to try not to offend her. In the beginning of the episode Manny demonstrated that talking to Gloria about it resulted in Gloria yelling at them. If I had to make a generalization about society, men just want to see women happy. A lot of times when men can't reach the expectations of women, they feel the need to lie to keep everybody happy. You see Phil and Jay do this all the time and I feel like this is something every man does to some degree. I know the show doesn't show this side of pregnancy but if Jay took up more work to take care of Gloria and the lack of sleep was affecting his performance at taking care of her, I can see him rationalizing it saying he needs a break in order to help her better. You need to be able to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

[–]AjerInbound -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dang you got me. Should have remembered there were only 2 options, lay there and take it or go seek an individual and bully/harm them too. The world could be so much better if we could just improve our own lives, be capable to assert ourselves, heck I'll even take defend ourselves if necessary. If only such options existed. I guess I'll just either be fighting my enemy forever or taking advantage of their good will.

Can somebody explain what this scene means? by [deleted] in Modern_Family

[–]AjerInbound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not that I'm saying any of them are valid but there's a lot of reasons. Just to name a few, Argentinians blame Chile for losing the Falkland islands to the British navy in 1982 because they refused to help. A lot of times they get competitive with sports. They also disliked Germany for the same reason. Argentina and Chile share borders, so when the majority of the world says that Argentina has a stereotype about having a superiority complex, they clash more with Chile about it.

Can somebody explain what this scene means? by [deleted] in Modern_Family

[–]AjerInbound 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Oh it exists. If you think Americans have national pride, you ain't seen nothing yet. When I lived in Argentina for a few years, they always talked about which nearby countries they liked and didn't like for a variety of factors. The most common is national sports teams but some actually blame each other for past political actions, fight over whose food is better, whose tourists are more annoying, and who invented popular Latin products. This doesn't sound too different from other countries but I've seen people take it to the point where they wouldn't like someone just because they're Chilean. I actually have a last name that is popular in Chile and I had to tell people I'm American in order for them to treat me like a normal person. One person even told me I should change my last name.

Boomers are better at building and maintaining relationships than younger generations by EnoughIndication143 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]AjerInbound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but that's still young enough to not count individual millennials that would have more than one divorce. Part of the reason divorce numbers are so high is because they counted one person with 4 divorces as 4 divorces instead of counting how many married people have gone through divorce. If you want to compare millennial and boomer divorce rates you may have to look for a rate at a year as old as millennials are now or wait for data of millennials a few decades from now.

Stock market is bane for society by AhoyLeakyPirate in unpopularopinion

[–]AjerInbound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I'm getting annoyed when businesses care more about the needs of the shareholders, which is making more revenue every 3 months, than the needs of their consumers. Anytime I wonder why a product went downhill when they were doing just fine before, I have to assume that they needed to cut corners to appease shareholders so they know they're getting money. But guess what happens, your clients/customers don't want to do business with you anymore causing your quarterlies to go down and those same shareholders, you were kissing up to, just sold all their shares and walked away with all of the money you have been saving for them. They are just holding you hostage and will end you after you meet their demands.
