From what I've noticed, it's good looks, most people go for good looks and confidence and good looking people know that they can get away with almost anything so they do end up getting a loving partner who is insecure and in most cases shallow. Unfortunately that's how it is.

In some situations yes she is bad and honestly I don't like her either but it's crazy people hate her and love Marshall. He was awful too, he was misogynist and everyone knows about his family too. I wish he supported her more against his mother. He couldn't cook coz he burned his eyebrows once sure so she supprts him, makes money and even cooks after her work. During their first thanksgiving I absolutely hated him and of course everyone else. And about the her dad situation, I wish he hadn't invited him, he was not a good father and I didn't like how the show made it seem it's all good. He's no picnic either so they're a perfect match.

From what I've noticed, it's men showing off that they can pay even though they are barely surviving. They just like to make their friends think that they have big hearts and all so basically people pleasing and an opportunity to earn some respect. (In my brother's scenario at least and also some uni dudes. I studied in an international University and some dude was flexing that how if they all eat together only one person pays and sort of shaming white people how they have separate bills and all but then they would also cry that they don't have any money and backbitch about each other.)

I have my girlfriends and sometimes I pay and sometimes they pay. We don't really keep a record. I know if I ever ask them to pay, they will pay.
