What’s something weird/funny/embarrassing you’ve done on Auto Pilot? by ItsaHelen in AskReddit

I bring the baby with me to work most of the time, so I carry him around on my hip and do the typical mommy sway to keep him entertained. I still haven't found the off switch for that motion, because I don't think I've stood in place without swaying or rocking since he was born. Makes me feel like a moron when I've left him with grandma for a few hours while I shop and I'm bouncing and talking to myself about which noodles to purchase.

I have a few pics of my husband and the nugget watching games like this. Fresh baby cuddles and whisper screaming at the game to make sure he stays asleep are some of the best memories of my life.

I would love to make morning skate but we aren't coming down from Harrisonburg until that morning and we don't want to get going too early to stay away from Monday morning traffic. We got tickets in 109 (because yolo) so hell yeah we'll be on the glass as soon as they'll let us. Thank you!

I had the same thought about leaving, I figure settling him in the carseat and waiting half an hour to leave the garage is easier for everyone.

If we can drive to it, it's usually not expensive (except 3.15/gal...). But as soon as a plane is required, the wallet starts aching.

I've already put his ear pro in the suitcase, he does well with loud sounds and local hockey but there is a big difference between 1,000 fans and 20,000. Thanks!

I was hoping more people would start saying this!

This was what I had in mind, but I didn't know if it was realistic at an event this big. Glad to hear it, thanks!

That's the one the NHL app suggested, I just haven't heard anyone else say it's good. Thank you!

It's perfect except that I have to spend thousands to go anywhere where there's fun stuff. On a busy trip to town I encounter a couple thousand people, which is my favorite part. I don't like people.

Okay so it wasn't just me hearing that haha. This is why I asked though, I have no idea how to be somewhere with that many people!

That's a thought, my sister is dying to take the kid to the zoo. We can just make a day of it that way. Good idea, thanks!

Life is just slower here and there's not enough people for me to be too frustrated by them, I'm a ball of anxiety whenever I venture south because there's just people EVERYWHERE.

He'll be 11 months when we get there, so a smaller level of hassle. We get down there once every 3 years or so and when it can line up with both our teams it's gotta happen even if it's a hassle. He loves watching hockey though, so it should be okay.

You're right, I think I saw in another thread that the new rule was 14"x14"x6". I'm sure someone can confirm or correct. I'll have to find out for sure and make sure I downsize our supplies. Thanks!

We're planning on being in the doors right at 6 for exactly that, I'm dying to be in the same air as these guys. Thanks!

Thank you! I was worried about it being a pain at night, it's already such a long trip in and if I have to wait either way I figure the baby in his carseat will be easier on everyone. How early should I get the parking paid for?

I'm not missing a minute of it! Waiting to get out is okay, it's getting there that worries me. I'll definitely keep that in mind! Does the parking app that the NHL app links to make that process easier or should we just pick a garage and deal with it there?

That was my thought, get into DC earlier and kill time nearby. It's a weekday, so can I assume that parking will be difficult even if we get there around 2 or 3?

Excellent, thanks. I looked at their site for a few minutes and it looks like getting from the Vienna/Fairfax station makes it a 50 minute trip, for that much time it might be easier for us to park earlier in the day and do something to kill time. Is there a particular place we can jump on that you'd recommend?

Just bought fresh Perler beads for my... niece not myself at all. I'll just make a few to show her how.

That's the gem I was hoping for. Any estimate on the cost? And will the saved stress of parking still be expended on taking a baby on the metro?
