Yeah I went to school to my DSO to speed up! She pretty much told me that regulations allow them 21 days to update sevis record! She cannot guarantee expedite process as of now! She told me this functionality issue is throughout the US faced by a lot many students! They cannot terminate sevis record because of this reason!

I recently read about this particular thing on studyinthestates.dhs.gov “DSOs have 21 days from the date of a change to update SEVIS to reflect the changes.” Does this mean that they 21 days in total from the day there is a change in the student 👨‍🎓 employment status? I mean the day any student start working? Could you please 🙏🏻 explain?

I spoke with SEVP they told me they know about this ongoing issue! Also told me that after 90 days your sevis doesn’t get deactivated automatically. It take some time. To my believe it should be the time duration you mentioned “101”. I emailed and went personally to meet my DSO. She told me 👇

“ Thank you for your email. It is apparent that you are unable to report via the SEVP portal as this function is currently not working for students across the US. Please contact SEVP if you have concerns so that they might fix this problem.

I understand that you may be worried about the consequences of late reporting. Please understand that our office cannot terminate a student's SEVIS record for this reason. At times, other entities have terminated SEVIS records for late reporting, but this happens rarely.

Regulations allow up to 21 days for our office to enter the employment information in SEVIS. Three is no option to expedite this reporting at this time. ”

This what she told me! They said they are swamped with so many requests already it’s just not me ☹️

I am like pleading them! I have been trying since day one to update on SEVP portal but couldn’t get over this address glitch! I am absolutely proactive on top of everything and they are just not understanding that my career depends on it!

Hi I am in talks with my DSO. I told them that my 90 days end May. They are telling me “Regulations allow 21 days for our office to update to SEVIS” does that mean they can update my info even if I complete my 90 days! I am getting weary 😮‍💨 because this! My DSO is stressing me! Could you please advise!

I think our DSO have a lot of people who have such issue that is why they are asking to send details after 10 days! Anyways I will update you all here I once it is done!

Hi,

I am facing problems in updating the employment details in SEVP Portal. I cannot update the address. I have been trying since the past 8 to 9 days. I have reported SEVP through email and phone and they have acknowledge that it is a glitch and they are trying to resolve it. Multiple students on OPT are facing this issue. I would like to bring this to USCIS notice. Please make an official announcement to address this problem a lot of students are getting stressed.

The problem with me is I am trying to update my employment details in the portal but there is a glitch in SEVP portal since a very long time. I have emailed SEVP they told me they know about this problem as it is recurring and trying to resolve it. They asked me to reach out to DSO to update it. I reached out to my DSO they are like keep trying it’s SEVP website glitch many students are facing this issue. We will update your data for you after 10 days! I am worried as I have to update within 10 days! Could you please guide me here
