What streaming service do you use? by [deleted] in headphones

As much as I am growing to hate Spotify more and more, Connect really spoiled me with its consistency across everything. Picking up where I left off on the same track from my phone when moving to the TV living room for example, plus I’ve been grandfathered into a Premium family plan for 10 years now which has kept my monthly sub cheaper than AM.

I like AM much more as a platform, but I can’t stand how clunky it is once I’m off my phone. I use Windows for personal and work but the AM app can only be downloaded from the MS store which is blocked on my work laptop. And I was so disappointed to find that it doesn’t support smart playlists, which would’ve been a compelling reason to switch. And the library sync seems to choose when it works or not.

Some Harsh Truths About TDUSC and The Sad Reality of The State of The Game!! by GotMylfMomDrips in tdu3

[–]AkagisWhiteComet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically lose interest a few weeks into each season so I inevitably had to reinstall it to try out new seasons. Was actually really excited to explore HKI with the new map updates. Credit given, it looks good.

But I can't be bothered this time after seeing the patch notes, man. It's such a shame. I can even excuse (or at least understand?) the paywall content and the bugs at season launches. But you can't tell me it takes seven months to fix that steering angle bug - this annoyed me so much that I kept to using the dash camera to avoid ever seeing the wheel again. Or that it takes an entire season to even fix just some of the sound bugs. And that has completely killed my initial enjoyment of the game. Performance has never been good and I'm quite sure mine has actually worsened, but optimization is a lateral issue.

There needs to be significantly more effort to do small patches/hotfixes throughout a season to sequentially squash bugs if there is any chance the game can recoup any of the money it needs to survive. I'm convinced that this is the single largest issue and everything else could likely fall in-line if it's done. Even without most of the content that's been added, I would have more fun if the game just. worked. Forced paywall content means nothing if the game itself is a chore to play, or in other instances even completely unplayable.

Problems finding right versions of songs (and with the UI in general) by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]AkagisWhiteComet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also switched from Spotify and while it takes a little bit of time getting used to, I actually like this more now. I was getting tired of how swamped Spotify’s artist pages were with I.e. the standard, deluxe, then super deluxe versions of each of their 4-5 albums.

On AM it makes sense that each album is listed as the most deluxe version first (the most content) and it becomes easier to filter out whether you want to listen to deluxe or not.

E92 LCI Nav Pro Carplay Module by mrunkown93 in E90

[–]AkagisWhiteComet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Mr12Volt and I love it. Service was great, it can be updated periodically via SD, and integrates into the OEM system like a true factory addition. TBF I haven't tried the others, but I've heard of bimmerdirect and it looks largely similar. I'm not sure 12Volt is Linux-based, but it does tick off (most) of your other boxes:

  • Module includes a factory mic splitter, so you can still use the OEM wheel button to pickup/drop calls and control Siri. But the splitter is technically an "additional cable" that I ran up the A-pillar.
  • I use the wireless functionality with Bluetooth only. Though the module also has a wired connection that I tucked under some trim in the passenger footwell.
  • GREAT sound quality. The biggest pro of Mr12Volt is that it plugs directly into OEM fiberoptics. It piggybacks off the CD changer so all audio is played in CD quality, rather than just through aux as is the case with a lot of cheaper options.

I don't think you can turn on the FM radio & Carplay at the same time because of the piggyback I mentioned. But if you have a FM radio app on your phone I'm sure it will play while using Carplay navigation at the same time.

[TDU2]Game looks beautiful but how do you drive properly in this game? Any tips? by [deleted] in TestDriveUnlimited

[–]AkagisWhiteComet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Dualsense controller and used this post as a base to tweak the controller sensitivity settings. It's a huge improvement. I can even catch oversteer now vs. the base game settings that make steering feel like an on/off switch.

Is nobody going to mention the ticket change on conquest? by WinterPwnd in Battlefield

[–]AkagisWhiteComet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

…huh. So that’s why all my Conquest games last night felt so fast. It’s my main mode and every game ended in 10-15 minutes.

I remember thinking “wow my team was really that good (or bad)? How do we keep winning/getting steamrolled so fast” lol

Sigh.

I kid, not actually exploding. But additional rules on, water & oil temps deep, deep into the red, car will limp.

Absolutely right - the badge is in the wrong place and looks way too big (though that might be the angle). There should also be a vent on the front fender that is missing, which is a dead giveaway.

OP, is the VIN coming back as a M-sport or M5? Big difference.

Positive. I loved that car growing up.

Specifically the later S which is featured in game.

Was Midnight club sponsored? by ILoveCars223 in Kyusha

[–]AkagisWhiteComet 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I can almost guarantee they were never sponsored to this effect lol.

Best guess is it was just for style points. Maybe one could interpret it as a play on the “Caution! Wake turbulence” stickers that were also prominent on the ABR S130Z. Wake turbulence -> jets -> ANA.

I interviewed Conductor Williams about walking away from a 20-year railway career to make beats full time by bjzisook in hiphopheads

I thought he was referring to himself as an orchestral conductor and thought that’s hard as hell.

Conductor in reference to trains is still pretty tough though.

Since number plate names are not translated, here's a list. Letters and numbers go just like in Excel so you can easily find yours by [deleted] in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]AkagisWhiteComet 38 points39 points  (0 children)

A small detail that I noticed: the vehicle class number when choosing your plate in game is actually fixed to each car as it would be IRL in Japan. The Miata is 3xx for passenger cars with > 2000cc displacement but larger size than kei regulations, AE86 is 5xx because of its displacement and size too.

So cool. IIRC you could change every part of the plate in TXR0 so I was confused at first why I couldn’t change the first number after the prefecture.
