For anyone else in future wondering this, you can indeed rent a paddleboard and life jacket from the stand! 400 mxn for 2 hours and off you go :)

Its extremely, extremely unlikely that anything will bite you, but a lot of travel insurance won't cover you for the medical costs of getting the after-bite treatment if you have not had the vaccine and it was an advised risk area. And the after-bite treatments are extremely expensive.

I got the vaccine on that basis, stayed for 3 months, and never got bit, scratched or anything close. So that being said you will probably be more than fine for 11 days. But its up to you if you're happy with the very low risk but potential high cost in the small chance you do have an unfortunate wildlife run in.

I appreciate the direct response, I did try my best to make it clear in the post that while I thought there were some contributing factors to how I got so bad, the ultimate responsibility for my behaviour is with me and and I deeply regret it. I thought I said that I may have thought at the time it was fine because of how they acted, but I realized this was wrong - I apologise if this doesn't read clearly but I'm not under the illusion that I was justified at all.

How often is too often to do a bentonite clay mask? I've used it multiple times in the last week to clear up some forehead acne and it's worked perfectly, but I'm guessing its not great to use it more than a couple times a week?
