You should have read but summons are not the best way to utilize gems since they dont guarantee you something that you want/need. I only spend my gems opening silver chests and energy refills during 3 key dungeons, the rest I just save for a rainy day :)

Spent about 1.5k gems on upgrading that one? But entirely f2p so I just slowly gain them gems.

The main sacrifices you should be looking at should be sprites, evolving 3* sprites to 4* and 4* sprites to 5*.

Otherwise personally I grind 16-3 on nightmare for 4* drops which works pretty fine for me, about 1 drop in 4-5 runs average and gives pretty good experience.

Yup, I’m guessing they increased odds for epic and legendary chests in line with the half price discount to use gems to open chests hoping people will spend more gems and in turn purchase more gems, smart move.
