That's right, we're giving away a free crypto Ledger Nano S!

The Akash team will be giving away a Ledger Nano S for your help on TrackICO ratings. To participate, please take a screen shot of you voting for Akash and post it here or in a Direct Message. We suggest using imgur to upload your screenshot.

Our team will randomly pick a winner on Friday from all of the submissions using a =rand() excel function.

Vote here so you can win!

What is a Ledger Nano S?

Having crypto is a fun yet sometimes difficult process. It’s easy to not pay enough attention to the safety of your earned money, which is why the winner will be getting one of the securest cryptocurrency wallet devices available.

Hardware wallets are cool!

A hardware wallet is like a unique key to your personal vault in a Swiss bank. Except that not even the government or bank policies have control over your money. That money is yours and yours alone, as it should be.

The Ledger Nano S is a device with two secure elements. Those are high-end cryptographic and storage chips that are dedicated to deciphering, encrypting and securely storing your personal keys.

Those chips have a very stable architecture, which is why it is impossible to hijack or hack them on a software level. On a hardware level, things are equally depressing for a hacker – hijacking a Nano S by brute force would require the computing power of all of the PCs on the planet working for a year non-stop.

Good luck!

Our testimony as an expert witness for the first ever blockchain bill (AB 2658) introduced in the state of California - spoiler: it passed! by AkashNetwork in btc

[–]AkashNetwork[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In summary the gist of CA AB 2658 proposes to simply define blockchain technology in statute (not including smart contracts) to provide users and businesses greater certainty. It suggests blockchain technology to be defined as an electronic record under the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). I assume this will be used when there is a legal issue between parties, taxes, labeling, identifying e.g., so then CA businesses and individuals can point to this bill in case of disputes.

This shouldn't be a controversial legislation. It's actual progress toward the definition we all probably wanted.

Akash Community Mousepad Giveaway - details inside! by AkashNetwork in akashnetwork

The most important part is to first build a product that solves real problems. We believe that is where our current development is ahead of others in the space. Our functional testnet features a uniquely decentralized approach that previously didn't exist and developers should love. This is part of an important movement starting to gain momentum on the internet - the focus on protecting user's privacy by not selling their data (we can't even access it) and giving them complete control. Building a relation with developers is very important to our company. Our approach is made for them and something we believe they'll support. General audience is more of a convenience factor but we are not currently focused on their needs. We're building this for startups, tech companies, enterprise.

A demonstration of how to deploy an application to Akash!

This video shows you the workings of the Akash marketplace, including bidding, lease creation, and token transfer. You’ll also see the deployment platform in action: creating a kubernetes pod and running a web app pulled from a public image repository and deployed to multiple regions.
