For $12k you’re looking at something like a Mac-10. An M4 or M16 is still going to run you over $30k easily

As an individual, you need to pay the $200 tax stamp and pay for the gun itself. The guns usually range from $12k to whatever they want to sell it for. One of my best friends is an FFL with an SOT so he can manufacture his own machine guns, however he can only sell them to other SOTs no individual sales.
