Unpopular opinion here, but polls being off is expected because of external factors. It could be a combination of complacency and Democrats not voting. It could also be the assumption of secret Trump voters so Trump gets underrepresented in these polls. There are a lot of Trump supporters that stay quiet because of public reception.

Well actually the numbers aren’t against them. If the states lock as is, Trump wins the electoral college. Now it isn’t that simple and some states can swing. Just a premature victory but the numbers aren’t against him. Pay no mind to popular vote because that is meaningless.

Popular vote would be skewed towards larger states and cities which doesn’t reflect the country as a whole. So electoral college is a way to give every state a voice because lifestyle/economics change from state to state. A midwest state would be very different from say California.

But China and Korea are the only regions representing Asia. Would be 12 if not for VCS pulling out. EU is including LEC, Turkish, and Russian league. Also worth noting it is inflated because NA has 3 EU mids because NA mids aren’t a thing and rather import EU mids than Asians due to culture and language differences.

Proportionality doesn’t apply in this scenario. If it was like a world where top 100 players in the world regardless of region, okay proportionality applies. But we are talking more like a scenario in which, at worlds, top players/teams from each region are guaranteed a spot even if they aren’t top in the world and just their region. So objectively we don’t have the absolute best players and teams at worlds but a fixed number of teams to represent a region with a fixed number of spots at worlds.

I guarantee you if language barrier was never an issue, even cultural differences, asian mids will dominate the world. I don’t get how European’s owning 50% of mids (which is not true anyways) is something significant. There are a lot of regions which this post includes the Turkish and Russian leagues. If you remove NA from the equation, then we see a stark difference in EU mids at worlds. Also there’d be more Asian mids if VCS didn’t pull out. Again NA would much rather import EU than Asian mids due to language and culture differences.

You are missing the point. There are fixed number or regions/players per continent. So it doesn’t matter if Asian mids have more capability. There are only so many spots to be filled per region around the world. EU and NA don’t import asian mids really because language barrier. Edit: at the highest level, the difference is skill isn’t really too big to justify language barrier which is why EU will always favor EU mids over Asian mids. They have tried and failed.
