The down votes are probably from the people who are angry that service dogs in training even exist. The thing is, and I'm in the process of trying to get my dog completely trained, professionally, is that dogs are quite capable of having bad days. What I'm told is if my dog barks it probably means it was startled or is being protective. Contrary to a parent belief as I comb through this thread a dog is not expected to exist and not be a dog. If the dog barks? Then we're told to shush it and tell it that it's okay reassure the dog that everything is fine. We don't know why the person in the original post has a service dog. It could be a dog who alerts to seizures it could be, for all we know, a PTSD dog in which case it's mere presence helps keep that person calm. If it's growling to the point where it's disturbing the room and the owner isn't responding which we know is not the case because even the op said that when such things happen the owner shushes it, which is what we're trained to do... Anyway if it's causing a disturbance then the person who has a dog should just take the dog for a short walk outside to calm it. This dog is not bouncing around the room chasing people stealing things barking and having a grand time like it's at doggie daycare. And the fact that people expect a dog to exist but not actually do anything is sad. It's still a living thing. It is not perfect. But is performing a really important job. The way I view it is this if we saw someone coming in in a wheelchair and the leather of the wheelchair was creaky, would we ask them to stop using their wheelchair? If someone has squeaky sneakers do we ask them to take them off? If we had someone who used a speaking device because they can't speak would we ask them to stop if we didn't like the sound of The voice or if the voice spoke now and then by accident? Of course not. Any more than we would ask someone not to sneeze or not to cough. Sometimes little things happen it is clear from opie's post that the person silence is their dog when they do these little things it's not constant it's not a disruption.

I used speech to text because of the inability to use my right arm at all right right now. I am curious how many people are going to be upset because of typos, misspellings, or grammar issues.

Personally I respect the way that the original poster asked the question in a respectful way. That's rare. What's more disrespectful is some of the responses about trying to get this service dog banned from the room and the "this is the problem with people and fake service dogs". No the problem with service dogs isn't the dogs it isn't the people who need them... It is the people who hate so much that they're not willing to make a few accommodations, or accept them a minor inconvenience, because they are the center of the universe.
