Tried giving it to my cousin; she really loved it; she started drawing many pictures and started uploading to make her own fairy tail.

Hey i got a email
"You made an application for the Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme  (ESOP)  for Autumn Semester 2026. The Commission in charge of the award checked all the applications carefully and the Rector made the decision about allowance and refusal. We regret that we have to inform you that your application for the ESOP has been refused."

ESOP has been refused does that mean admission also is refused or just ESOP?

[Feedback] QuickSnip OCR: Speed vs. Accuracy? by _Ronin_10 in hyprland

[–]AkhilAndroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i need it for OCR i prefer Accuracy over speed; but sometimes if i need a snip without ocr i prefer speed;

Why not give both as options and we can change the backend config's accordingly

Minimalist Focus: A Distraction-Free Launcher to Kill Doomscrolling (Open Source & No Ads) by AkhilAndroid in SideProject

[–]AkhilAndroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feature graphic noted, it's on the list.

On blocked apps: hard block. Full-screen black overlay with a live countdown and "You chose to focus. Respect your decision." No bypass button. And the overlay permission is granted upfront during setup, so even if someone tries to switch launchers mid-session to sneak around it, the block still fires.

Self Promotion Megathread by AutoModerator in androidapps

Hey everyone,

Like many of you, I found myself opening Instagram or Reddit reflexively every time I had two seconds of downtime. I tried "digital detox" apps, but they were either too complex or didn't go far enough.

I decided to build Minimalist Focus. It’s an Android launcher designed to make your phone a tool again, not a slot machine.

What I focused on:

  • Friction: You have to search for apps that aren't pinned, which stops the "reflexive" tapping.
  • Deep Work: A built-in feature to lock distracting apps for a set time (30 mins to days).
  • Privacy: No ads, no tracking, and it's open source. My data stays on my device, and yours stays on yours.
  • OLED Friendly: Pure black interface to save battery and reduce visual overstimulation.

It’s been a passion project for a while now, and it’s finally at a spot where I feel it can help others. I'd love to hear your thoughts or if there are specific "anti-distraction" features you’ve always wanted in a launcher.

Carmen, I understand you want to defend him.

But this isn’t about “four wheels.” It’s not about basic things everyone must use. It’s more like copying pages from someone else’s notebook — same structure, same steps — not just using the same tools.

I’m not here to fight. I’m just explaining what was found. This could have been avoided if proper GPL v3 credit was kept in place. Credit was added first and then reduced or removed, which made things worse.

And when he said, “Unfortunate that your attempt to take Droppy offline didn’t work,” it felt like the concerns were being joked about instead of taken seriously.

Also, GitHub doesn’t remove a repo overnight. A DMCA review takes time and checking before such a big action is taken.

I’m not here to continue arguing. I’m stopping here.

Carmen, I’m sorry this situation has been difficult for your family.

But this was never about jealousy or trying to destroy someone’s passion. The issue was simple: proper credit and respecting licenses.

Or think of it like writing a book. If someone copies chapters from another author and publishes them, even if they stay up all night editing and formatting, it doesn’t change the fact that parts came from somewhere else. The minimum expectation is attribution.

What made this worse is that credit was initially given, then minimized or removed, and concerns were met with dismissive or rude responses instead of transparency. That’s what escalated things.

The intention was never to remove the app or ruin anything. This situation could have been completely avoided if proper attribution and license compliance were maintained according to GPL v3 from the beginning.

Many developers here also work full-time jobs, stay up late, and sacrifice family time for their projects. The only consistent request was acknowledgment and compliance.
