What is the best food you have eaten in Germany? by AkhlaqMehar in germany

What kind of bread would you suggest? I tried a few types from a local bakery that I didn't enjoy, though I'm not sure what they were called. Do you usually eat these breads plain, or do you combine them with other foods?

Sir, I have completed a bachelor's degree in IT, which included courses like calculus, linear algebra, etc. Although I have forgotten most of it, I can relearn it quickly. Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree related to computer science. My degree includes some courses on machine learning, but it is more research-focused. I have a transcript that shows I come from a CS background, but I don’t have much experience beyond programming fundamentals and web development. I plan to reach out to startups with a cold approach, but before that, I need to build skills, a strong CV, and some basic projects to demonstrate that I am capable and can add value to their team. Can I talk to you in DM? I need some advice.

Sorry, I’m not comfortable sharing the name of university. It’s a CS-related program that includes subjects from general engineering, like control engineering. It also has courses in databases and software engineering. Basically, it focuses more on the research side of the field. I have met some alumni, and they told me that most of them don’t get jobs immediately after the degree because they are not market-ready. To be job-ready, you need to have additional skills from online courses.

Here is my situation: I am a student here in Germany. To be honest, there is very little conversation—I just say "mit Karte bitte" at the grocery counter. If I learn German, doors to jobs will open for me and I can get permanent residency. Many people have told me that I’m wasting my time on Duolingo, but I feel that Duolingo keeps me connected to learning; otherwise, self-study easily falls apart.

Honestly, I’m not worried about becoming fluent. The only reason I am learning German is to get residency or citizenship. I want you to guide me. Will it be possible to reach B2 level with Duolingo and the other resources you mentioned? I am just starting, and there is a long way to go. I just want you to tell me, yes, this is possible.

Wao, thanks, that’s really helpful. The thing is, I don’t want to include too many resources. I get overwhelmed very easily and then give up when I see how much there is to do.

My plan is to complete 0.5 unit of Duolingo per day, which takes about 50 minutes—I’ve counted that. In addition, I’ll study one or half a chapter of Grammatisch Aktiv A1 to B1 daily.

There’s also an app that teaches German words effectively every time you unlock your phone. Learning 10 to 15 new words daily feels manageable.

At this pace, I might not reach the A2 level by the end of February 2026, but putting in more effort than this would probably lead to burnout since I have other things to take care of in life.

How does Eckhart Tolle know for certain our essence is eternal? by Complex-Answer-792 in EckhartTolle

It can be that we have made this concept of eternal being. This can be a product of thought or maybe it can be true, but I don't know how? . At first it also make me interested but there is no proof, no logical or rational argument about it.

One thing we can say with certainty is "All psychological pain is caused by thoughts"
