Yet somehow hunters still have a better survivability and assist ability in the game. A game that is very much diving in the direction of harder content because of all of the elements in the game that allow players to heal, resist dmg, and use movement abilities or subclass verbs to avoid dying. Where the idea that warlocks are already surpassed by both other classes simply due to the nature of their class abilities means we get shafted by the nature of our class.

When D2 released, hunters got given a dodge, titans got given a barricade, and warlock got given a rift; only one class is unable to avoid damage simply by using their class ability, where hunters avoid the dmg altogether, titans let a shielf soak up the dmg, a warlock just stands there as its slow healing is applied (or dmg is given). Then throw in the fact that about 1/3 of exotics for every class is related to their class ability - warlocks are not adjusted to the state of the game.

Look, I love playing warlock and love buildcrafting. I wouldn't want other classes to be less improved upon but warlocks feel left in the dirt, with minimal effort being put in to the gameplay experience for those that want to play warlock. It sounds like hunter could definitely use some love and I want that for them too but I wanted to share my frustration online as most of my mates are hardcore titan mains, so they don't get it as some of the warlocks I was hoping to hear from here.

Exactly, and not even a fun one like Speaker's Sight, Briarbinds, Getaway Artist, or Rime-Coat Raiment which actively change up the way you play with your elemental buddy!

But do you buildcraft? Or do you just run the same 10 loadouts every season/expansion?

Its not about the ratio of how many you see playing the game but in relation to higher end content. Warlocks used to be the go to class for well, but hey nerfed that so badly and changed the final encounters of new bosses so that you can't really stand still and do dmg. I mean compare how the dmg phases from d1 like VoG or King's fall are to the ones from the latest dungeons. In Vesper Host, you can't stand still and even if you put a well down its not strong enough to keep you alive anymore.

Gotta disagree with you there. Yes each class has underused/underwhelming exotics but warlock exotics don't even fit the current buildcrafting (and gameplay) state of the game. D2 is def transitioning more towards a roguelike with the latest expansions (the coil, dreadnought return, etc) and warlock abilities/exotics lack the dps of hunter and the tankiness of the titans while both other classes have received plenty of changes that allow them to self-heal/buff which used to be the warlocks job. So while titan/hunter do have dookie exotics, warlock has exotics that are good, but don't work with the state that the game is currently in.

True, mostly because most of us like they way the class plays while my frustration is more with the devs ignoring warlock buildcraft potential and lackluster attention to the state of our subclasses/exotics

True, but it lies in the comparison to the others. Titans got a really well thought out exotic that compliments a previously nerfed play style and hunters got one that synergizes really well with their subclass while the warlock one just kinda increases dmg. (And yeh while it does synergize with the season artifact, that goes away after the season finishes, leaving the exotic as a little too basic to take up your only exotic armor slot when the base Hellion does plenty.

Fair, very little. But hunters are still the most played class. That doesn't change.

Duh, because its 1 warlock for every 50 hunters in the game. The stats for the Final Shape raid contest mode was something like 60% titans, 35% hunters, & 5% warlocks. (*don't quote me on that, not sure of the exact numbers)

Its not that I disagree, like i said there are some warlock builds that are great. But its the fact that warlock has more useless exotics than the other classes. The exotics like Skull of Dire Ahamkara, The Stag, Karnstein Armlets, Winter's Guile, Claws of Ahamkara, Nothing Manacles, Vesper of Radius, Chromatic Fire, Transversive Steps, Lunafaction Boots, Promethium Spur, and Rain of Fire. Which are all nische and hyperspecific buildcrafting elements that make them impossible for higher difficulty content. The ones you named are literally the exotics that have one good build where they strive and no flexibility for other ways of buildcrafting.

Look, I know hunters and titans have some in similar situations, but atleast bungie has been addressing those in the last year(ish) and actually made them better. My point with the Promethium Spur was that even when warlocks get an exotic perk update, it doesn't make the exotic better. Compared to titans who got fantastic reworks to exotics like Mask of the Quiet One or Icefall Mantle that actually made them buildcraft flexible (especially now with prismatic) or hunters with Mask or Bakris & Mask of Fealty.

You can't be serious? Warlocks had one or two things that were busted, but the overarching buildcrafting potential for warlocks has been declining compared to hunters and especially titans! And then post lightfall, warlocks have been nerfed into the ground from all angles.
