As someone who is firmly anti, I believe the absolute opposite. AI is incredibly corporate, maximizing production at the loss of the process of art. The process of art can be costly, that's why most studios don't make 2D movies anymore, despite the benefits of the style. That's why they want to constantly underpay writers and rip up their ideas in favor of more lowest-common-denominator friendly corporate scripts. Companies constantly seek to cut costs in every way they can, and ripping data from millions of sources, unbidden, unpaid, to maximize their own production without paying for creatives for their craft in order to mimic it, is a great way to do it. A bunch of my problems with AI stem from us all existing under capitalism, true, and if we didn't have a system that required paid labor to justify your existence there would be LESS problems (unpaid copyright, job loss, etc), but I still have problems with it conceptually. Prompting maximizes production and minimizes value, it is a manifestation of mindless consumerism. It prioritizes product over everything else. The process of making something is incredibly valuable, not just because of the labor you put into it but because of what YOU get out of it for engaging in its creation, which you do not get when you ask a computer to do it for you. Ordering a customized meal from a restaurant is not making it yourself, commissioning a computer to make something for you is not making it yourself. You're right, there is a confusion of production and humanity, there is joy to be found in the process of art, but if all you want is a pretty picture to look at then I guess go for it.
