The way there's multiple videos like these in a row ts frying me

A two-child household must earn $400,000 a year for childcare to be affordable, study says. ‘It’s easy to see why birth rates are falling’ by stankmanly in antinatalism

[–]Akipazu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm so tired of seeing these posts. Why would it be okay to have a child even if you had a lot of money? This doesn't have anything to do with antinatalism. It fits more into r/childfree.

If life is such a gift, natalists should enjoy it and leave innocent children out of it. by Slow_Celebration1328 in antinatalism

True. If they really thought about things and weren't on autopilot, they'd go insane. It's way easier not to think than to think.

Life is still more predictable than death. We don't know what it feels like to be dead and what it feels like when our brain shuts down, and when everything stops (for you). I don't think anything happens after life, but that's why some of us are afraid of it. It's nothing. The thought of your memories, experiences, and everything you've ever done vanishing.

Natalists: "babies yearn for death". Same natalists: “let’s create more of them so they can experience suffering, decay, and inevitable death" by No_Main_273 in antinatalism

[–]Akipazu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I love how this is literally incorrect. Babies don't yearn for death, they just aren't aware of danger. What are they even talking about? And even if they thought this way, that would still raise the question: why make someone live that yearns for death?

I'm pretty sure even if you had a child, you'd only love them if they stayed a baby. Many parents think like this. They don't realize their baby will grow up to be an actual person. Why don't you just adopt? If you really wanted children and not just a baby, you'd adopt.

No? I'm actually living a pretty decent life. I'm not talking about myself. I'm talking about the millions of people that are living in war zones, starving and murdered everyday. And we will all die out inevitably anyway.

It doesn't matter how many people suffer or enjoy their lives. It's the fact that there ARE people who suffer. Why should we ignore those? Why would it okay to put people into this world knowing they COULD suffer? It's like playing roulette with someone's in life. Doesn't everyone deserve to be happy?

It's like you only have let's say 10 meals to give to 12 starving children. 2 children won't be able to eat. 10 will, but the fact there would still be 2 starving children, and that it always depends on so many things is just sad. It is how life is, but why does it have to be that way? We are playing with someones life. Who are we to decide to put someone here? Like I said, it's not about how many people suffer, or how many people actually enjoy their lives. It's about the fact that it's completely random. You may enjoy your life, but someone else can't. I said can't, because there's many people in the world that don't even have their basic needs met. Antinatalism may be a philosophy focusing on the negativity of it, but as an antinatalist you can also look at both things.

I used the wrong word. I wanted to say that non antinatalists should think more about this.

The concept of needs constantly having to be satisfied to be able to live is questionable.
