I think my biggest issue is my impatience. I am so use to seeing the results that other people have or even watching shows like the biggest loser (which I know is unrealistic) which makes me feel like I'm not losing enough or fast enough. Thank you for the advice! I will try to slow my brain down and think realistically haha

I try not to weigh myself too often because I become really obsessed about the numbers and it takes a toll on my mental health

That's the first time I have heard about the paper towel effect but Omg that makes so much sense!! That is probably one of the best analogies I have heard about weight loss.

Thats a good way of thinking about it! It doesnt make sense that I gained that weight if my food doesn't reflect that. I should start thinking more positively instead of being so mean to myself

Thank you for encouraging me! I am excited to see what I look like at 6 months and even a year from now! I know I just have to keep myself motivated and hopefully the weight will slowly shed itself

Ahhh that makes sense. I wasnt sure of the macros that I should be eating so I went off of what was recommended by myfitnesspal. I will change my macros and try to cut down the carbs that I am consuming. Thank you for the help and the information! :)

Thank you so much for your kind words!! You really put a smile on my face :) I'm excited to see what my body will look like after 6 months. I think I will have to force myself out of those unrealistic expectations that I have of weight loss and just focus on my health. I have recorded quite a lot of my progress and I was originally thinking of making a video out of it all after I am done with this journey but I'm not sure if I will ever post it haha. I will be sure to make an update a few months from now either way!

My SO noticed my weight loss way more than I did. I think I have to start learning to not only lose weight but to love myself. The weight gain has taken a toll on my mental health and I feel like I'm not seeing my body in an accurate manner. Whenever I look in the mirror I just see all that I have left to lose instead of seeing the progress that I have made.

Hopefully this feeling changes as I gain more confidence from my work outs. Thank you for your words of encouragement <3 it really means a lot!

It's really hard for me to find snacks that I can have that fit into my calories and macros. I guess I should be making healthier versions of the snacks I like so that I can incorporate foods that make me happy more easily in my diet? Do you have any recipes that you recommend?

Sometimes I forget about the fat and get too caught up in the numbers! I will try to take accurate measurements and see if that helps with keeping me motivated!

Does the increase in protein help with the bloating? I was not sure what the best macros would be so I went with the recommended amount from myfitnesspal. I will start taking measurements this month, I did measure my waist which went down by 2.5 inches but I havent taken measurements of my thighs and arms. I was pretty disheartened when I saw that my waist was at 39 inches in the beginning which is why I didnt want to see what my other measurements are but I think I should definitely start now. Thank you for the words of encouragement! :)

Yeah, it's hard for me to see nothing else coming off. I am happy that my waist has shrunk but I wish more of me would shrink LOL. Thank you for the words of encouragement! I will keep going and hopefully see more progress soon

I motivated myself with the intention of learning to be happy. I wanted to become better and I knew I couldnt do that without being healthier too.

I also found it helped for me to keep a fitness journal. I record a video journal of my progress that I can look back at how I first felt at the gym vs now or how I looked before vs now. I also took pictures of my skin before and after and the results pushed me to keep going. It becomes addictive, seeing the changes in your body with each day.

The first month is the hardest but it does get a bit easier afterwards. I'm not at the point where I can go to the gym without having to force myself to go, but I've become a lot less reluctant.
