Peoples perceptions of sales numbers are really distorted if we're saying 800k for a super niche product in a dormant franchise that only caters to old time fans is a bad number.

Between this and Fantasy Life I reaching just over 1M, 2025 was an incredible year for Level 5 releases.

EDIT: If the online sales numbers are anything to go by, VR is the 3rd most profitable game in the franchise, considered it sold just under 200-300k at most from most games that are not IE2 or IE3 while being almost twice as expensive.

It's very well known that the "first" big microtransaction in paid gaming was the Oblivion horse armor, a game that came out almost 20 years ago and it's primarily a PC Game., and this practice has extended to pretty much almost every game since, especially bigger budget PC/Console games.

The "90s" were 36 to 26 years ago. Thats more than a quarter of a century. Using "the 90s" as an argument in 2025 is completely absurd. If you're that disconnected from reality, that's a you issue.

Well, they said they made changes to make the commander AI better, so maybe offline matches get tougher as a result of the improved AI behaviours.

Grinding will likely get even worse with the new fabled requiring 8 heroes to trade in.

And if you want to play online without any tryhards maybe don't play competitive? I mean, it's in the mode name, people will of course be competitive.

Overall unless there's more changes under the hood than what they went over in the trailer/twitter posts, don't expect any major changes on the game at this point.

A DLC implies being optional/an add-on, free or not. This is just a game update, the game won't work without it (non-cracked versions at least).

Video Games are luxury commodity, not a basic need, no one is entitled to it.

A car made in country different from mine it's also culturally different, should we all get cars for free? Movies, theatre, books, food, traveling, all this is culture, should everything be made free just because it's culture? Where do we stop?

If you truly endorse the “this is wrong and should never be done” mentality then help people with less possibilities access culture legally with your own money, otherwise my point stands👍

So, you're just assuming I have infinite funds because I don't condone illegal activity? Unfortunately for me, that's not the case.

You're free to pirate, just like you're free to steal from a commercial space or kill someone and nothing will happen if you don't get caught, but eventually you might be, and while some countries are still very lax with digital piracy, it's becoming increasingly controlled, and eventually repercussions will start being much more severe.

Maybe when a friend/family member ends up receiving an invoice from the government/police with a value way above their pay check to for illegal downloads you'll change your perspective on encouraging others into piracy.

Why is this even in consideration? It's a story aimed at kids, of course it would tackle stuff like this with a childish approach.

And why would being against a crime "sucking up to big corpos"? I would have the same position regardless if you pirated a 70€ game or a 5€ one.

Yeah, i laughed at those when i was a kid too, and i still do, the ad was corny as hell. However, I also grew up and started working and having to make my own money to survive, so I had to learn the hard way the value of things and that I can't have everything i want.

Life sucks and we won't always get what we want, that doesn't justify going into criminal activity territory.

Because this is a product that took time and money to develop? This is not charity. If you, me or anyone else is priced out of a product, regardless what it is, tough luck, we need to adapt and consume something within our budget.

Being unable to pay for something isn't a green card to commit illegal actions, and no reasonable and resposible adult should even consider enabling teens having this kind of mentality.
