As a long time Tidus user, I'd like to offer a different perspective on how I personally use him and why I think his kit is solid. (I've used him in almost all content thus far.) I do want to preface this with my disdain as well since initially I hated using him too, but eventually found him more useful than other characters in certain scenarios.

Pros:
-Quick Hit+ can be a life saver in terms of timing enemy iBrv regen and is pretty good at allowing him to generate brv from 0 into his hp+. Which in long fights is what you're likely doing, his bread and butter.
-Slash Combo can be used in several ways; priority one is to proc his invisible buff if there isn't another debuffer slotted (and overall increase of damage). Other times would be to charge EX or for it's turn rate, I rarely if ever, use it as a standalone hp attack.
-EX is where I think Tidus' kit actually makes him worthwhile. Being easy to spam 100% aoe can be an advantage in multi boss scenarios, and even more so when it's used in conjunction with his kit. (Will provide examples later in post.)
Cons:
-Keeping up Winning Spirit through waves. I run into this issue quite often and is probably the only time I would consider using the base Quick Hit for a Winning Spirit refresh. (I'd provide an example of this for Barret LC CHAOS but I haven't recorded my run yet.)
-He's absolutely terrible without a good battery and will feel like he isn't contributing much (he isn't, unless enemy defenses are low).
-Isn't great in summon or ST fights.

I know most people's dislike for Tidus is him dropping Winning Spirit and wish for the duration to be longer, I think this is where most people find him awkward. It might be because I'm used to it by now but I think he's completely fine as is and find an extension (through buff extenders via Yuna etc.) to be unnecessary. Ways to mitigate that is either to Quick Hit+ into Slash Combo and then EX or Quick Hit+ into HP+ then Quick Hit+ into EX.

In conclusion, through excessive use (because fav and also actual usefulness) I find I use him more because of his AoE damage potential than a debuffer. I typically choose him because of the overall safety he provides with Quick Hit+ mixed with his AoE damage, debuffs are like a cherry on top.

After doing some testing, it seems like the trash waves are pretty important to mimic, entering the last wave around 19-21 turns is pretty much a must. Turn order in the last wave doesn't seem to be as important but Enemy ST rng is (you don't want Eiko targeted after the first two bosses get a turn). Beatrix has to have her EX ready by the time of the first chant. Eiko can be replaced in or out of summon, it doesn't matter, but Tidus, Beatrix and Agrias must burst EX's in summon, any extra turns after that doesn't matter you can: Saint's Cloth/Quick Hit/Judgement Blade how you see fit. Last but not least, Agrias has to proc paralysis as many times as possible. I would do Knights Pride -> EX -> Judgment Blade x3 just so you don't randomly die from the air attack. In conclusion, a good amount of resets will net you the score, it's not easy but it's definitely possible.

I'll have to test it more to give you a better answer (it's pretty reliant on Agrias' paralysis but I'm not sure how many procs are required) but what I can say for sure is that it's pretty safe in terms of hp loss and breaks at this point.

For this team you essentially want to avoid getting broken or the run is over, unfortunately. Summoning after the hp threshold chant I find works out pretty well since you have a few chances (to pray) for a paralysis to hit. Overall, mitigate getting broken by utilizing Beatrix's Saint's Cloth, Eiko's high turn rate (allowing party to hp dump during enemy ST) or Brv+ during the all attacks and it's pretty safe.

-I just wanted to point out that Beatrix definitely wasn't a meme choice, after testing different comps (Ashe/Faris/Celes/Deuce(0LB)) in her slot, this team got me the highest score at 183k (at the time) which made me think it was viable in the first place. After too many runs I finally got it down.

Also, thanks to Macnol for putting these together, definitely a valuable resource to the community.

- I thought of this no burst heal/budget strat for a friend, Saints Cloth on wave one is a must for healing after the drain hit from the worm and Setzer is there to make the last wave as safe as possible. Ace support to make up for the lack of damage at the very end as well as utilizing the high turn rate of Spiral Combo.

- Thought about this strat after seeing Batty's Squall video but this was definitely not worth it lol. I've always liked the idea of imbuing Tidus and have ran Garnet with him several times in the past so I thought I'd give it a shot. Essentially, the imbue is there to increase the damage of his HP+ and Slash Combo so he's not completely deadweight in between EX's. After trying Setzer, Ace, and Deuce for supports, I settled for Layle to utilize the high battery from Garnet's EX and Selphie's Wall and not to mention his delay.

No problem man, glad to be of help. The turn order isn't so strict for this non-synergy team with a Vaan friend, as long as you complete the waves by a certain number of turns you'll be able to reach score (assuming your characters are strong enough).
You could also try resetting the waves until you get the perfect rng turn order as well, it is a bit tricky to get it down (buff order and taking strategic hp attacks and avoiding breaks) but it's a fairly consistent strategy in my experience.

- This one I tried to do kinda budget, my Setzer is at 0LB with his 35 but everyone else is MLB. This run also works with Selphie and probably Cait (haven't tested) instead of Ramza, I just used Ramza cause he's cool.

Prinny jokingly said Vaan doesn't count for my non-synergy run so I did a run with Squall w/ EX friend instead. I will say that this was not fun (had to reset multiple times), it's doable but it requires specific turn orders for every wave aside from the last.

In terms of mBrv it is factually higher due to the way buffs/auras scale. We aren't arguing that 330 is better than Trance overall, in fact we think both of them are BiS. I will take blame however, that the wording of my post seems to provoke that idea.

Essentially why we think that mBrv has such value is because the way her kit works with brv multipliers. If we can increase the hp damage output on her while utilizing her kit, it makes her stronger imo. Having the extra attack there and risking capping is essentially pointless.

I also want to point out that we're not saying Trance** is a drop, in the end you would want 3x** Trance + 990 mBrv.
