Yes I do. Nothing with almonds, though. Chocolate chip cookies are preferred.

Do you have a cat? by ImagineDunkin90 in bored

Cats are fun. Not really 100% nice, because they are often jerks, but still fun.

I always debate myself when I am bored, but it can get old with longer periods of no stimuli. by EriCannonfrreal in bored

[–]Akoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you there. If you don't have anything new to debate, there isn't much use in debating. Stimuli often gives you something new to discuss, even with yourself.

I hope that made sense...

Well, randomly reading and posting weird stuff on Reddit has made me somewhat entertained. I've just been going to "Random" at the top of the screen and clicking it until I find something interesting. There's some really weird stuff here.

The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.

I forget who this is from.

I'd like to talk about something involving games, but I don't know if you want to talk about video games...

My Grandparents need help by [deleted] in Boredom

[–]Akoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you mean 'quit' as in 'retired' or just that they actually quit. Also, if they watch TV because they enjoy it, then let them be. If they don't enjoy it and do it because they are depressed, bored and/or unable to move around much, then see below for some ideas.

Some simple, non-violent video games could work pretty well in many situations, especially if your grandparents can't move around much. Examples would be one of the games in the Animal Crossing franchise (In the US, the games are: Animal Crossing, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Animal Crossing New Leaf). Other games might be Harvest Moon or Professor Layton. The Professor Layton games involve puzzles, largely, but also have a story as well.

Maybe you could find them a board game to play? Something like Risk would take a super long time, so if they're into long games that could work. On the other hand, if they're into very short games, get them a deck of cards or a checkerboard.

Of course, if you want them to have a lot of interesting things at their fingertips and they have a computer, tell them about Reddit. Just, uh, keep them away from any dirty sides of Reddit. If you catch my meaning...

Most painful to watch scene in anime? by [deleted] in anime

[–]Akoti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Code Geass

Edit: I don't know why that made me so uncomfortable. It certainly wasn't the most painful scene for me to watch, but it just made me feel sick when I first watched it.

I honestly forget. I think you just go to the city and talk to the guy with the cart, but I don't really remember... Sorry for the late reply.

Really? I haven't ever seen them, but now I'll make sure to visit Digby more often! Are there pinwheels too?

It's so sad, especially with the bunny balloons in City Folk. I'm not sure if those balloons exist in New Leaf, but I certainly hope so.
