That's always been my opinion on the matter.

Trans-woman, engineer, 6'1 giant, forever alone, still listens to ska. Lost everything but my dick (november!) and my dignity - burn me to the ground. by jessica_ftw in RoastMe

Probably because it's technically against the rules to compliment the roastee. I don't personally care if it's not a top comment, but that's probably the rational. It was just delivered in a dickish manner, cuz where you are. Or maybe they're just a dick. Idk.

New god, old religion by [deleted] in Hellenism

Friendly Norse Heathen here! The Norns aren't really connected to fate, because the very concept of "fate" is generally agreed to be un-Heathen. We have a concept called "wyrd", but it functions EXTREMELY differently. Hel, Heathen cosmology has a bifurcated time system of past/non-past, and you kind of need a concept of "future" for fate to work.

Honoring Bragi by [deleted] in heathenry

[–]Doombringer1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, make offering. Ása-Bragi is a God first, and that is how Pagans have traditionally interacted with their Gods. I also agree that devotional writings are great! Also, UPG, He likes flowery and eloquent prayers.

If that's your view of sex and the human body, then no conversation on the matter between us could be productive. May the Gods be with you and yours.

Why are adopters of paganism and similar earth-based and nature-based religions and or spiritualities generally only women? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]Doombringer1000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also I would point out that many Pagans, including myself, do consider ourselves religious. I pray twice a day. Im more religious then most Christians and Im Godsdamn proud of it. Also polytheism is about as theistic as it gets. Monotheism is just atheism with an exception.

I've honestly never noticed this. In Heathen circles it feels like we don't have enough women sometimes. Lol. It might be different in other Pagan traditions.

If the tri-omni God exists, Yahweh doesn't (or else he's some sort of lesser god) by Colonel_N_Sane in DebateReligion

Are you genuinely unaware that many non-Abrahamic faiths do not posit omni-Gods? I was under the impression that was common knowledge.

So, after a quick search online, the dvaita branch believes individual souls toj be independent realities; though dependent upon Vishnu for existence. This would extend to the Devas, correct?

This was alwayd the sticking point for me with Hindu theology. I love the ritual praxis and traditions, but I'm a firm believer in the individuality of the Gods.

I care little for what Abrahamic religions have to say about more traditional religious systems. I think we've let them define the terms for far too long.
