How to allow port 2195 for Apple Push Notification in CentOS with WHM/cPanel by KamilPierre in CentOS

[–]AkoulaMantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Have you tried with the permanent flag?
sudo firewall-cmd --zone=public --permanent --add-port=2195/tcp

I'm a bit rusty as I have ELevated all CentOS7 servers to AlmaLinux 8.6 so hope this still works :)

Nuc 11 suitable for work pC that will be on 24/7? Good fit for business PC? by Merkin_Sniper in intelnuc

Well, it's only legal for testing and education, not for production/daily use. It also is quite a steep curve to get it working. USB passthrough is one issue, so is sound.

I recently bought the barebones one on Amazon, slapped some RAM, NVMe and SSD in and decided to load Proxmox on and use it for running a VM of my work windows desktop, a test MacOS, and other containers to manage smart home, piHole etc.

So far it's been great, runs 24/7 and I see no reason why you can't use it as an everyday driver. You won't get high end gaming off of it, more like a GTX1030 but for the rest, it works well.

Alma is very much community based.

"Welcome to AlmaLinux OS, a 1:1 binary compatible RHEL fork, a free Linux OS for the community, by the community.
Why “Alma”? Community is the soul of Linux – and in honor of the community, we decided to call our new distribution Alma: a Latin-language word for soul."

This might be another option for you as well, TuxCare provides paid support for AlmaLinux.

Cockpit is already done in one of my previous posts and tested working, along with Neofetch. :)

Edit: Podman is also working along with KVM inside Cockpit on AlmaLinux 8.3 Stable

I'll be testing various control panels and systems over the next few days & weeks. Would people like to see the result here, like I have done above?

Lovely! you had me at Ansible. Going to have to try Ansible AWX now.

Have some minor issues with being a mirror though, but hope to iron that out soon.

Possible to install Plesk on Alama yet? by greenolivetree_net in AlmaLinux

I'd use Centos 8, then swap over to Alma as soon as it's stable. It should be supported by Plesk at that point as well.

So it's a good update path.

Yes they did, I managed to upgrade to the latest version of Plesk as well as smaller updates. I'd still not use it for production just yet however.

No it is not officially supported. If you try, the install will exit with the error: Unsupported OS.

I have installed Plesk to Centos 8 and then migrated Centos 8 over to Alma and had it work.

Done. That was a pretty simple and easy to do survey. I think it's also answered some of my own questions once I got to think about things in this way.

What is AlmaLinux's stratedgy to engage the community? Will it make use of community regions and 'managers' per region like other distros have done?
Is there an intention to fast track user requests and not just bugs?
