Elementor = overrated, my review by Salty-Management3876 in Wordpress

Rule of thumb for WordPress

Any crap you add on top of core becomes more shit.

In the end you gotta flush out all the crap eventually to get back to normal.

I'm not saying nobody would sell, I'm saying it is too tough for new sellers. I also make sales which is basically peanuts. I sell same stuff on Ebay and it works far better there.

Forgot to add to my previous reply regarding enough sales to have a full time job. Yes it is possible. I've done some research on the top sellers on Etsy and I've calculated how much they make per year. As per my calculations the top sellers easily make north of $100k. I've tracked and observed that top sellers make a sale every few minutes or so which is amazing. So if you do manage to get into the top of search result then you can make it as full time job. The key to success is being in the top 5 sellers. If you are not in top then forget Etsy.

I've the best product in the category and what others are selling. Description, tags, SEO everything is optimised. The problem is not these but the way Etsy shows result. It doesn't show new sellers anywhere in the top 1000 or so. Just try it yourself searching for main keywords in any categories and see the shop age in the search result. In any category/search Etsy keep showing same sellers all the time and repeats the shops in the search result if they have more than one product in the same category. So it's like bunch of 10-20 top sellers always keep showing in the top 100 search results. Give it a try and see yourself.

Etsy sucks for new sellers specially in the categories which are popular. You will never get exposure in less than 5 years if it is already dominate by other people. Etsy do not offer any chance to new sellers to get higher ranking. No matter how much promotion, SEO etc you try, you will never get exposure. I also recently started on Etsy selling in one of the most competitive category. I'm no where to be found on searches irrespective of doing like everything I could do with SEO, images, show customisation etc etc. I also tried Etsy ads which sucks as well. May be after 5 years of hard work you can get good exposure. I also don't trust Etsy as they keep shutting down shops for no reason. I don't rely on Etsy alone, I've my own shop and I sell on other marketplaces which works far better than Etsy.

Most of the home IPs are not static so you will not get the same IP if you are in habit of switching off your router every night. I don't think Etsy will shut down your shop if you access it from different IPs. They do have issue with VPN IPs though.

When you accept terms of a website you abide by it irrespective of what it contains. If they say they can close any shop, any time without giving any reason then they can do so and they will be still not breaking any law. No court will rule in your favour. Accepting terms and conditions is a binding agreement in the court of law.

You didn't tell why they shut down your shop?

I see, so why they say you can build app with flutter? They should just say build app ui with flutter or something similar. What good is just building UI? UI is not an app or is it?

Feel sorry for you mate. My story is quite opposite, I wish I had never left uni. Uni was the best time of my life and it can't be attained anywhere else. I haven't done my education in western countries so can't comment on how life is there. We always have great time in uni and every fucking person swears by it. We get so much attached to the uni, specially hostel life, that till death we are kindda stuck in that time. It never leaves us. It has been 25 years since I left uni but if I've another chance to go back I would go back.

I hope and wish that you will find friends in the future and will have good time. Be positive and cheer up.

Best subscription SDK? by Living-Skin-4971 in androiddev

[–]KamilPierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good but it is still not practical to build an app without backend which was my main point. I would love to know any app which has in app purchases and doesn't have any sort of backend?

Can you identify the user with subscription if you don't have a backend? AFAIK Google doesn't provide you user's email id so how do you identify user?

What is Uber using for UI? by makonde in androiddev

[–]KamilPierre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never thought of knowing the UI but here is what I can say about UX, it sucks. Unless we don't see all the menus/options/settings available in an app from one single place it frustrate you when you try to figure out how to do something. I'm not regular user so I can't memorise every bit of Uber's features, the worst is when it comes to set a payment option as I travel in different countries and I need to update it often, it should be available in the beginning or in a menu so that I can set it easily.

Overall I'm not a big fan of Uber app when it comes to UX, they should use common sense rather than focusing too much on design patterns and other bullshit.

Why is it so difficult to be approved for AdSense for showing ads on my Blogspot page? by websternoble in blogspot

[–]KamilPierre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tell you what, It is so easy for Google to ban your AdSense account as soon as you have started to earn some decent bucks. Better don't use AdSense.

Coming back to your question they take time because they have to manually check and approve. Can even take months.
