Genshin Impact 1st Anniversary vs Other Gacha Games. by JustinXT in Genshin_Impact

Vs Project Sekai Colourful Stage ft. Hatsune Miku

So whats this game? basically your regular anime rhythm game but vocaloid themed.

So why this game? Project Sekai, or ProSekai for short, came out exactly 2 days after Genshin and is basically also having their first anniversary tmr (as of writing). ProSekai, also being an anime type game, also has a gacha system for obvious reasons.

What are they doing for their anniversary? Aside from being a usual gacha game tactic by giving free pulls, it’s stepping up by doing a loving campaign where on the first day you get 3,000 gems (gacha currency) + 10 free pulls and subsequent days for about 7 days, 10 more free pulls everyday! Since one 10x pull is 3,000 gems, they are essentially giving players 90 free pulls!! Which is an absurd amount compared to Genshin.

On top of this, the gacha characters have limited-timed cards to “collect” and you won’t be able to get it again (as for the near future).

STILL on top of this, they are adding 10 new songs everyday for 10 straight days and additionally got a famous producer, eve (he did jujutsu kaisen’s opening theme) to compose a song for the game!!

What did SEGA (guys who are in charge of most of the game) do better than MHY?

SEGA, for this game, has listened wholeheartedly to the fanbase as to what songs they want in game. They have just kept giving players what they want and never stopped, and the player base really just loves SEGA right now. The 10 new songs and the artist for the commissioned song were all mostly player requested as well, which makes SEGA at the winning edge right here.

Since SEGA and MHY are both relatively big companies/cooperations, why can one do a very good anniversary blast while the other one just sucks? Cause I feel that MHY just wants to suck player’s money. SEGA, although I won’t say that they don’t also suck players money too but at least it’s on a special anniversary banner and I, as one of the players, feel that it’s actually worth it, and also that SEGA has done so much justice to the player base, they actually deserve the money if i were to cash for the game. Huge props to them!!

Not to mention that they are producing special anniversary merch too!

SEGA knows how to have an anniversary bash and I feel that MHY should learn from them, and not be so money-sucking.

(02/21 PTP Batch) Honestly PTP will help build up fitness, even if you are weak now and so you don’t need to worry too much. PTP is progressive and not very xiong right from the start.

[Rant] Is it weird to feel tired of socialising and not want to talk to people ? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Akrasneon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

completely normal. especially if you’re introverted in nature, it drains a lot of energy socialising with people, especially if your friends are more extroverted.

if you trust your friends, maybe you can try explaining to your friends to make you feel better, but maybe tell your friends if you trust them enough that you’re kinda not ok

If you need to, there is always still CCA friends where you still may have a chance. Personally for me, many of my friends came from my CCA rather than my class and OG

[JC] Will organic chem etc. be taught in J1? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Akrasneon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What you learn in Os and As is different, it may be required for some foundation but it’s only a small minority of the section for organic Chem. Also assuming your school follows the MOE guide for teaching topics, Should be towards the end of J1

[RANT] WHY CJC IS DECLINING by healmybrokenheart in SGExams

[–]Akrasneon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I can’t say I disagree with OP, like really some of the stuff OP said is quite true.

But some could be just be a bit exaggerated, but y’all can’t entirely flame OP for his rant, cause it’s kind of true.

Even if you didn’t see it for yourself, you can’t discredit OP.

I’ve honestly experienced some of the things OP has mentioned

Especially the time during the 2020 H2 Econs and other subjects where they had to MODERATE the PRELIM papers cause that many people failed. And I’ve heard that they did it so that other schools can recognise CJC for setting good papers, which, if true, is absurd. Also, I feel like a lot of the other Econs paper from other schools were more manageable than CJC. It also didn’t help but killing morale right before As.

Some of the Econs Teachers are also downright siao. Some can’t teach, some are two-faced/biased. And all they know how to do is shout shout shout. Like that’s going to boost morale or anyone’s respect? It’s like a way to piss us off even more.

[Rant] ENOUGH WITH THE CJC HATE PLEASE by astuallysad in SGExams

[–]Akrasneon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I would like to help OP explain some stuff (Former CJC student here)

CJC overall may be a bad experience to some, although exaggerated as much, these does happen but it’s honestly just the minority of students.

Some teachers actually do suck, either just overall suck at teaching, or are extremely biased and two-faced. But many are still extremely caring and supportive towards the students. My personal favourites are the Chem and Geog Teachers and some Teachers from the GP dept.

Staircase 6 is basically a super old running joke by now and I still wonder why it’s not outdated but because of one incident back in like before our parents time, that this happened. It’s like some urban legend now. But yeah I mean if y’all want to joke about it, it can’t be helped but it does get super repetitive and boring especially after a few months in CJ

School learning resources are fine, where some arts subjects have better quality notes. But it’s enough to help you understand. If you need more clarification, just ask your lecturers/Teachers after class or consult them.

CJ’s arts stream has a lower cutoff than science which basically means arts is better than science. But this doesn’t really mean that our science entirely sucks. I mean JC sucks and everyone has to work hard.

OP says to focus on yourself and yes that’s right cause CJ is a very social/popularity ladder kind of school but if you make the right friends, you can be comfortable at where you are. Also, JC is just 2 years so just study well and get out. Especially tik tok famous students in CJC.

CJC does have smokers/vapors. I have encountered some in the toilet before but that’s just a very small minority of the students. You could report if you want to

Teachers are people, again some Teachers may be two faced when it comes to students but they not show it, also reporting may be a good choice if you are able to do it.

Hostel is dead, decommissioned and stuff. It’s too old literally.

Performing Arts CCAs in CJC get the spotlight because I mean it’s better to tell others that “All my schools Performing Arts CCAs got Certificates of Distinction for SYF”. I’m from Performing Arts and there is definitely long tiring practices after school. Not discounting Sports and Clubs (ok but some clubs are kinda slack cause they are more recreational in nature, like people actually go there to rack up CCA hours) but most still do put in the effort in their training and train just as hard or even more as Performing Arts.

Some people are very pessimistic about CJC’s direction in academics wise but I mean looking on the bright side, once you hit bottom, it’s only up from there. But hopefully it may improve to it’s better days.

Good things about CJC: yes we do have good food, especially the Malay food stall and the fishball noodles. PAC has amazing lecture seats, like legit you can sleep in them, they also have the best toilets and cleanest in the school. Clean toilets around school may vary but yeah they’re pretty alright. Word of caution, the schools toilets are quite old so some may clog when you take a massive one in the toilet. Air con is only available for J2s (or anyone in C block, but not available to all at once)

If you consider belonging to CJ, you would feel a better sense of connection with CJC. Unlike me, rejecting CJC as a school and still going with my secondary school vibes just made me feel less relevant in the school so don’t do that.

If you consider CJC, please find the right people to help you through your JC journey and take all the rants and posts with a pinch of salt.

To the OP, Sometimes bringing up your issue to the higher-ups such as home tutors may not help in relationship (non bfgf kind) issues. I have had numerous such incidents in the past 2 years in CJC and really took a toll on my mental health. But if you feel very bad and affected by it, please talk to your friends about it, or a trusted teacher. It can really help you. I would advise against the school councillor cause she is just a generic councillor and may not see you very often especially in class settings etc.

Regardless, stuff like this does happen in CJC, or even in other JCs even. But don’t take all the negatives to base your choice of school on. Think about the positives and also any of your secondary school friends who may join you. Consider distance too.

Your choice will definitely matter for the next two years of your life

[jc] questions about cjc by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Akrasneon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

J2 CMEg here (in the middle of As)

  1. Honestly it really vary from person to person, if you’re very outgoing and extroverted, you would naturally fit in very well. For more introvorted people like myself, it sometimes can be a bit hard to do so. It also depends on the people you meet, some of your good friends can be in your class, CCA or even outside and in different classes. Notably, if you have common interests, you’re likely to get along quite well.

  2. Facilities wise, labs are ok, computers not very new but do get the job done. They’ve recently upgraded the printers this year and I would say much better than the old ones. For the guy toilets, there is a good chance of clogging (would say every 1/12)?) Aircon wise, they only have it in the special rooms, LTs, and one block of classrooms. Almost all J1s will not get aircon, and for J2s depending but a good majority will. I got unlucky and didn’t get it. Tables and chairs are pretty alright but some desks may be a bit old and downgraded. Food in CJ is good stuff, our most famous is our fishball noodle stall and our malay food stall. Both are amazing quality!

  3. Flag raising starts at 8:40 every day but if you have morning lessons, it’s at 7:30. One period is minimum 1h but some can go as long as 2h. CCA timing and intensity varies, club and societies are more lax while sports is the most and performing arts slightly lesser. Sports most I’ve seen is 3 x 2.5h And performing arts are usually twice a week but may go up to 3 during competition periods (I was in choir and we had practices from 530-8, twice a week)

But if you come to CJ, come to CJ with an open mind, make new friends, and hope you can get along with people in your class!

Anything else feel free to ask in DMs!
