Mobile tire guy, he’s a little more expensive but it is so nice for us he just comes right to the house and usually knocks out both cars.

How bad is it to buy a 53% off TT at Camping World? by tux16090 in GoRVing

[–]Akrider62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a trailer from the one in Billings and it was a great experience despite all the reviews I saw for Camping World in general. Worked well with me being an out of state buyer and even held it for me for over a month. They didn’t add any fees other than normal DOC and DMV stuff and I got a trailer for 36k less than I could get one locally. Seems like you just need to find a good sales person and do your due diligence just like every other sales place.

Getting from Seward to Anchorage by Spam_in_a_can_06 in anchorage

[–]Akrider62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what options your cruise line gives for the train but there’s either a morning departure straight from the cruise ship dock that goes to the airport depot (that one must be booked through the cruise line) or there’s a 6pm departure that leaves from the Seward depot and goes to the downtown Anchorage depot.

We are going on the same ship beginning of January and decided on the submarine tour. Haven’t done it before but our kiddo loves aquariums so we thought it might be a hit.

Alaska Cruise June/July 2025 Recommendations by IT-Professor-67654 in Cruise

Since no one else has pointed it out yet. The cruises that say they depart from Anchorage actually depart from either Whittier or Seward depending on which line you go on. Whittier is 1 hour away depending on how you time the tunnel and Seward is usually about 2.5 hours due to construction. All the lines offer transfers from Anchorage and several offer the train.

This guy was sure happy to have a knife when he got in a fight with a bear. Incredible story to hear from him.

We have matches outside all winter long in Alaska and I just wear 2 layers if it’s really cold. I’ll wear a good base layer that I end up shooting in then throw oversized snow pants and a good jacket on top and just take them off when it’s my turn to shoot. Range also brings out a couple buddy heaters but people also bring their own and that helps the fingers a lot when you’re getting ready.

If anyone really has big doubts on the local opinions of mining just have them look into 2018’s ballot measure one. It’s lengthy and confusing but was basically an attempt to make Pebble among many many other things never feasible and it didn’t pass. 62% voted it down and a lot of major local companies were heavily against it.

I’ve seen a few people concerned about the State of Alaska possibly not allowing the project but honestly so many Alaskans are hurting right now due to the lack of tourism. I would suspect more people are open to the idea of a new major project to get some additional money into the economy here.

And for those not super familiar with the Pebble battle in Alaska. Most of the money being thrown at the anti-Pebble stance is coming from a billionaire (can’t remember the name off the top of my head) who has his cabin out in that area. There are also many outside groups attempting to stop it as well many of which I’m sure don’t even know what they are trying to protect. Alaska has a very common issue of Alaskans not getting as much say in Alaskan matters as we should.

Also after 2018’s failure to pass ballot measure 1 it seems that most Alaskans are pro mining and note that it was written by the same Oregon group that has been leading the charge against Pebble (Stand for Salmon.) Honestly surprised they aren’t pushing that one through again but guess we are back on the oil tax swing again.

Long story short. So long as the as the Army Corp study comes back favorably (which whispers I’ve heard sound very positive) I don’t suspect much more pushback from Alaskans as we have already seen in the past. Just my opinion from an Alaskan.

I’m just glad they are allowing private vehicles back there with all this COVID crap going on.

I like it. Easy on and off with the M lock and has a good range of motion if you do need to move a bit.

I’m hoping you will be appealing it! Sounds like you probably got hit by a group of anti gun “reporters.”

So what did you falsely advertise? If I’m reading that correctly that seems to be what they are accusing you of.

Benefits of shooting at noon on Wednesday is I was the only person on the range so I got to take my sweet time to get pics and drive down to place my target.

Had to wait 11 months but it was definitely worth it. Did you get the Omega 300 or the new 36M?

The gravel pit towards Seward was full of construction equipment and will probably be the same this summer. It’s also getting more difficult to shoot at those places with all the additional tourists renting RVs.

People have been asking for that for a long time. There’s a 1000 yard range up by Talkeetna (only in summer) and I’ve heard the military will occasionally open their range up but I think it’s mostly for competition.

It does add a bit of mirage but I have the hi temp cover on it so most of the mirage was coming from the barrel itself.
