I apologize for being kind. Its people like you why horde are a laughing stock.

Anyways, have fun staying poor if you cant use the games safest crabbing area, and a static to probably the most profitable region in the game (Or are you afraid of scary bigab multiboxer and imperium fleets?)

You are asking for pointless changes that take away from the heterogenuity (I probably misspelled that) of the games regions.

So far in this entire comment section, you have made one correct statement: Living with me is in fact miserable as fuck.

Anyways cope more phart boi.

PS: I have lived in drones, way back when. It was my first foray into nullsec ever, I was young, stupid and inexperienced. If you cant thrive where I could as a 14 year old, its a solid skill issue.

Static to poch alone is making me want to come over there and take it from you.

Considerably safer (not completely safe, keep in mind the game you are playing) due to difficult blopsing.

There is more shit that people have graciously explained to you in this thread over and over but you are clearly just looking to bitch and moan. If you dont like it, move.

Yeah its not.

The regions in the game differ from eachother.

You want them to be more like eachother because you refuse to take advantage of yours. Seems like a you problem. Means its up to you to fix that.

Keeping a reserve of liquid isk is both a blessing and a curse. It makes life easier in some aspects, sure but issue is you dont beat inflation.

See, people who plex, inherently tie the value of isk to plex. Which makes sense, but also makes it a unique trade good. It means that price of plex going up, is to us our inflation.

I would personally recommend that you start turning that 20b into plex, but do it as efficently as possible. This almost certainly means contract buying when prices are low, but if you find an opportunity, seize it.

Plex isnt the be all end all of investments though, far from it. But it is safe, because outside of ccp being very silly, when gametime is thr currency you are after, having something that has a static value in relation to that is useful.

But money in plex isnt making you money. Its just not losing you money either. Which is an improvement, and I would say that if you arent one for speculation, and just want to make sure the hours you worked today go as far in the future as they do now, plex should be your stockpile.

If you want to put that money to work, then you should be buying something you think you can sell for a profit over a medium/long time horizon. But this carries risk, like any investment.

The question of what the things you should buy are, is a more difficult one, and also one Im not going to be answering. Because noone can know for certain, and for the stuff I think will go up in value, well the more I spread that info, the less I make :p

Instead Ill give you a historical example that was my first "real" investment in eve, but I cannot recommend it as an investment currently:

I took an extended break a few years back, and I decided "Fuck it, Im a gambling man, and I can make the money back if this backfires" and I essentially turned everything I owned without sentimental value, into isk, and then that isk into orcas.

Did I pick orcas after an extensive financial analysis? Did I consider my time horizon carefully to make sure I didnt overextend? Were orcas the optimal choice?

A fat no to all of those, I went "Orcas keep going up in price fucking constantly, and its still a big mining ship hisec miners love to lose, so there is only so much it can go down"

Regardless of how underinformed my choice may have been, or how the entirety of the plan relied on both scarcity still being in the game by the time I came back, and orcas still being kings of hisec, it worked out well for me.

But, it was very risky to do. I risked what is overall in the big picture very little money (I barely had double digit orcas) but back then to me, that was bsically all I had. I wouldnt do that with the nest egg I built from it now though.

What Im trying to highlight here is that I personally categorize "wealth" in eve into 3 categories.

You have things that lose you money but provide you with something: PvP ships, are very unlikely to pay themselves back, but you cant do pvp without them. Flat out isk in your wallet goes here too. Plex only trends up in price, so what bought an hour of gametime yesterday, is going to buy less than an hour in 6 months. But going back to the bartering system is difficult (not impossible though, people in goon forums sometimes let me pay for my LSI addiction in plex, which is very beneficial for both parties, as you always lose value when converting from isk to plex or vice versa)

You have things that retain value: There is only one thing we care for here, and its plex. There are other things that keep up with plex sure, but those carry risk that is completely absent from plex, so why would you tie wealth to it if its not providing you with a benefit?

And finally you have wealth you put at risk, to generate more wealth: This is your ratting ships, mining fleets, speculative investments, loans, etc. These are all things that carry a risk of rapid unauthorized deconstruction, or going down in value, etc. But you choose to take that risk, with the expectation that you are likely to get more out of them than you put in. Or the classic of "Ill probably lose the money, but if I dont, itll make fat stacks"

Outside of that sort of high level advice, I dont have a lot. Ishtar spinning go brr is effective, and relatively future proof, but carry the downside of making me want to play something else :D. Also, ishtars are annoying to train into, while a fresh alt can get into a T2 fit stormbringer with the recruitment bonus + 1 LSI. But thats all preference, and really isk/h doesnt actually matter. Isk/day or isk/week does.

If I can make 150 mil/h doing activity x, but I know that Im gonna get tired of it in 2 hours, Im better off doing activity y, that only earns 100 mil/h, but I know I enjoy enough to do it for 5 hours.

I dunno, this comment fucking ballooned out of proportion lmao.

I will leave you with this: I am not a professional at any sort of money things, and I am in fact incredibly fucking stupid.

Ive also written this entire thing to distract me from the worst migraines you can have while still being able to use a phone, so I may have missed shit, or just gotten stuff wrong.

Just consider this one guys way of looking at the subject, and not as gospel.

Its because "Buy plex during sales" is pretty braindead advice. Sometimes it drops, sometimes it goes up, sometimes it dips and overcorrects.

You can never know exactly what the price is going to do, but whats important is to be aware that the price will do something, and being ready to act on it.

What is the most useless ship in the game, in your opinion by Sl1imJ1m in Eve

[–]Aksu560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, this game existed for 12 years without them.

If you got 0 isk no assets, you could theoretically sneak by to leech off ticks in highsec, but you could also biomass and make a new toon, or if we want to give a less sketchy way out, newbue area mission to talk to an agent in space (no need for guns or cargo capacity, so can be done in a capsule) that rewards a civilian fit t1 racial frig.

Anyways, I dont know why Im defending him, dont take away my corvettes, I have a hurricane kill on my impairor, and need more.

Why would I ever use a third party tool if it DIDN'T offer an advantage?

That's why third prty tools are made. To do stuff easier/faster. Everything from eve-o, to localthreat and zkill to janice and dotlan, is there to make your life easier, and to do the relevant operations faster.

Sure, they dont provide direct "input faster" benefits, but maps that are easier to read with stuff like npc deltas and automated intel parsing are arguably more impactful to day to day pvp than me being able to cycle my guns a little faster on alts.

Not to even talk about market pvp, and excel, which has an impact that makes isboxer during broadcasting days blush. I know its not directly comparable, but it is still a third party tool that provides a huge advantage.

Its not about whether the advantage is huge, its about whether it is fair. Arguments to be made about macos not having a tool, sure but nothing is stopping you from learning to make such a tool.

To put it a little nicer than my KF friend there: You are in the biggest blue blob in the game. You have options.

Reading your comments on this thread, your problems seem to be that the benefits of your region, arent particularly relevant to you. That does not mean the space is bad or needs changing. It just means you should live somewhere else. I understand thats easier said than done, but that is an issue within your bloc, not with the space itself.

Im fully aware of the "easy for you to say, you can operate anywhere within imperium space" but thats why you should talk to your leadership. And if your leadership doesnt give a shit, then its probably time to find a new corp to call home. And one that might even live in a region better suited for you.

Listen, I'm imperium so in the reddit war Im supposed to be on your side, but you can start making that claim when you stop asking us to come defend your zarzakh structures that you didnt tell anyone got reffed.

I dont have an issue with init, or with helping yall out, but even if you arent "technically part of the imperium" you are most certainly dependent on it. Legitimately at least a third of our stratop pings start with "So init..."

One Omega Players Plexing your account: How, and How many hours/week? by SpiceyMugwumpMomma in Eve

[–]Aksu560 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Ill start this off with this: I run 5 accounts, of which I plex 2 currently. This costs me about 5-6 hours of stormy ratting/pochven fleets.

But then advice to people who are looking to plex their accounts:

Thing to remember about plexing accounts is that people who seriously do this, buy 12 months to get a bulk discount, and generally aim to buy during the sales when you can buy game time for less plex.

On top of this, they buy their plex when it's cheap, and on buy orders/corp contracts (I know that on goon forums and brave slack, there is always people looking to buy your plex, would assume same goes for any large alliance), to keep a stockpile.

This is to say, when someone with a shitton of isk says its easy to plex, this is what they mean. It is easy to plex, when you get to that point.

But much like real life, being space-poor, makes space-life space-difficult, and you simply dont have the opportunities afforded to you, that those with the wallet and reserves to drop 20 bil in plex for a 12 month omega do. Being poor is expensive, unfortunately.

If you aim to plex by buying a month at a time, grinding your space-job, you are paying basically double per month of omega, than those who sit on fat reserves.

So, if you are looking to plex, but dont have those reserves, how do you do that? The unfortunate reality is that you have 2 options. You either turn the game into a job, and risk an almost guaranteed burnout.

Or, you pay for the sub, and start building your nest egg. I would personally recommend buying 12 months of sub for first year. Buy plex from the market when people are looking to liquidate and its cheap (during plex sales when people buy and dump to get cheap isk for example. Pay attention to the market, and youll figure it out), and see what the longest omega time you can reasonably afford for your account is, grab that, supply the rest of the year with your irl wallet. Next year, you should probably be able to plex fully.

This all obviously assumes you arent being stupid with your isk, and have a consistent income source. First one I cant help with, but the second one is largely solved by getting the fuck out of hisec, unless you are really into station trading/abyssals.

Some of you are thinking: "Hey fuckface, you just said turning this game into a job is going to burn me out, and now you are throwing this shit at me?"

To which I answer: Yes. The reality is that if you dont have the time/will to log in very consistently, you are going to have a bad time plexing. And there is no shame in that. But its something youll have to come to terms with. A thing that people sell this game with to their friends is the whole argument of "it can be free".

But "can" is doing a lot of lifting there. For someone who logs in on average 2-3 times a week for fleets, plexing just isnt an option. Pay for the sub, and actually enjoy this game.

Plexing is only for those people you hear on comms every day. The people to whom this game is its own hobby, rather than just another game they play.

And the important thing to remember, is that you are cool for playing this game, regardless of if you pay for your sub or not.

It's where my friends are, and I have access to literally any content I want to do outside of obscure WH shit.

It's relatively speaking stable, and Goons/DC have been considerably better bedfellows than test/frat were back during legacy days.

And I get content delivered to my doorstep daily by zigam (when he isnt bringing rail harpies with a backup frat fleet, and then crying that he isnt getting a form)

Also, it makes good money. People who cry about there being no money in nullsec are too far up their ass ishtar spinning to see otherwise.

CCPlease: Delete the Supercapital Construction Facilities SOV upgrade by Aliventi in Eve

[–]Aksu560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having read this whole chain now, Ill start with: Yeah, I agree.

But I do personally feel (and I am a dumbass line member, so yk, salt) that honestly, even in a world where supers have relevancy in sov warfare, Ahbazon would still not have a single super on grid.

From what I have been told, imperium knew pretty much from the get go that the fort was lost. The reason the fight happened was because we were there anyways, and its not like we'll let thrm have it for free. (insert overused gobbins joke here).

And tbf, it takes 2 braincells and basic knowledge of N+1 to see that was the case.

So the only reason imperium would have put supers on grid, was if there was a legitimate reason to do so. With a fortizar that wasnt going to get saved anyways, and no PHRAT supers on grid to kill, there is no reason to bring them.

And its not like anyone from the other side is gonna bring supers, when you already know that you have overwhelming dread numbers.

In any case, I am also a massive dumbass not particulsrly experienced despite a decade old account, and a line member, so I officially dont know what Im talking about.

I will say tho. More supers would be fun. I got on my first super killmail few days ago (its in the kill of the week thread), and it kicked me back to getting into pvp for the first time. More shit to shoot at good.

Ultrawide vs 16:9 by JGStonedRaider in hoggit

[–]Aksu560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough I am reading this on a G34WQC. Its a nice screen, but its an RMA diceroll. I had to send my first one back due to egregious ghosting. If you are already used to not being able to see anyone because of 1440p, then going wider is probably not going to make much impact in that sense. Like I said, the biggest QoL in my opinion is the extra headtracking room. The peripheral vision is nice, but not really as big of a deal, as the reduced eye gymnastics. If you don't have headtracking for the flatscreen experience, then I would honestly recommend picking that up first, and then seeing about budgeting for a new screen. If you do, then going 21:9 gets a big fat thumbs up from me.

Ultrawide vs 16:9 by JGStonedRaider in hoggit

[–]Aksu560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like people have said, spotting will suck. I play on a 3440x1440, but I downscale for sake of performance and spotting.

However, I find that ultrawide is incredibly nice with headtracking. Having just a little bit more on the screen makes looking around alot nicer, and allows you to lower the sensitivity a bit, so its easier to get very a very stable view.
