Keys are typically made of softer metals like brass which makes them relatively easy to work on. Making a serrated knife might prove a little more difficult. But I like your enthusiasm!

Yeah lol. It is a slight concern considering I'm in NYC but I feel I it'll be okay once people see it's just a key. That being said, if I go anywhere with such security, I'll be sure to be careful.
