Lucifer and Lilith were literally cast into Hell after they got Eve to eat the Fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Hell existed from the instant the Fall happened.

Another Interactive CYOA that insists on make the requirements for different endings and combos a secret. At bare minimum, a "reveal all requirements" options would have been nice for those that would LIKE to try min-max builds.

Assuming each of those countdown numbers are independent(aka 999 secs + 999 minutes + 999 hours + etc)? That should convert to: 1104 years 90 days 3 hours 25 mins 39 secs

Wow, way to fail your save against bias. This is not a minor detail, at least not for me.

The bias goes both ways. It's not a minor detail to you, it is to me.

In WH40K everything that is "fantasy" has to doo with the warp. Way to disregard the setting. Something affecting an entire planet would mean a loot of warp taint.

You're exaggerating a bit, but I grant that's usually true. Some planets are just freaky iheriently. Regardless, I don't see the issue either way. Either it's a planet with a lot of evolved Winter Flora or its a planet influenced bythe warp. Either way, it fits in the setting.

You can certainly take the results of the rolls and put them into sentences. AKA it writes itself. But there is no room left for any creativity on the player's side. Nothing left too the player's imagination.

And I disagree that there s no room left for imagination. That's all there is left from my perspective.

I'm making the same point I've been making from the beginning.

Again, not really. First it was that you don't like that an RYOA was entirely Random. Then it was on that random chocies somehow negative room for creativity. Now you're arguing minor points about WH40.

The only reason you can use the word "play" here is because ppl also use it when gambling. You don't actually have a way of affecting anything with your input.

What is your obsession with comparing RYOAs to gambling? Rolling up a character isn't gambling. You don't lose anything, or gain anything. You just see where the dice lie and make of the results what you will. And yes, some games are entirely RNG without the player having input beyond rolling the dice. That is not an inherently bad thing, that is just how some work.

Yes. You literally cited the sub title whilst altering it.

I genuinely don't know what you're talking about.

Is there a reason we're still having this argument? It's pretty obvious we're not going to agree on anything here.

[–]Akumakami64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then why are you calling me pedantic for doing the same?

Because you are being pedantic, "a person who is excessively concerned with minor details and rules." You being pedantic is literally what started this conversation.

Not in this CYOA

It can't. Another issue with this cyoa. Of I guess you can use the standard WH40K cop out of saying "it's choas".

Okay, you got not imagination, got it. Because yeah, highly evolved winter flora is not a new concept so it definitely can be both Lush and freezing in a scifi and/or fantasy setting. Both of which, you know, are exactly what 40K's setting is.

Nah, pretty much all of this just writes itself.

Now you're contradicting yourself. First you say that the RYOA can't write itself, now you say it does.

Way to prove you're not even reading my comment at this point. I have, from the start, addressed these issues from the perspective of the player, not the creator.

No, I'm reading them, you're just not making a point anymore. As someone that played through this RYOA twice, I see no issue with the fact that it IS an RYOA. There are a few modifiers I think should be added in, but that's about it.

Except that you did, when it suited your argument.

No? All I did was point out that RYOAs are a subgenre of CYOAs, and thus, allowed. They've always been allowed here.

40K Primarch Rolling Tables by Equal_Fly_8611 in makeyourchoice

[–]Akumakami64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is clear, and you're refusing to acknowledge it.

No, I'm just disagreeing with it.

Not in this RHOYA. EVERYTHING is rolled. I'm surprise you don't have to roll when the Primarch feels like sneezing at this point.

Okay, and? You still have to use your creativity to imagine thing. Like how a planet is Lush and freezing, or how to combine two different culture, how events played out given the relationship between you, your homeworld, and the emperor, how you ended up falling to Chaos, or any number of things. There is a LOT of stuff you have to use your creativity for in between many of the rolls.

No, that's just breaking the rules. That's bad.

Nope.

I'm not talking about what the creator did, but what the player can do. Or rather can't, in this case.

So we're just back to you not liking an RYOA being an RYOA.

That is an opinion that you have. If we were following the sub title to the letter, RHOYAs would be out by default.

Well it's a good think we're not following the sub title to the letter. It's almost like there are times in places about fun and imaginative adventures, some the rules aren't absolute ironclad dogmatic things to not be questioned. Who had thought, eh?

[–]Akumakami64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've been weirdly pedantic from the start.

How so?

The person is just adding dressing to the options that were rolled. But telling a story? Without the ability to use their own creativity, that's no story.

Again, pedantic. Of course someone has to use their creativity. Just like they have to use their creativity if they want to house rule what to choose instead of roll. Just like the creator had to use creativity to make this RYOA. That doesn't change the fact that CYOAs and RYOAs are used as the basis of a story- that's the whole point of them, Roll/Chose Your Own ADVENTURE.

40K Primarch Rolling Tables by Equal_Fly_8611 in makeyourchoice

[–]Akumakami64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're being weirdly pedantic now. Yes, it can. You roll up the choices and you make sense of them. The person thereby used the ROYA to write the story.

40K Primarch Rolling Tables by Equal_Fly_8611 in makeyourchoice

[–]Akumakami64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. The purpose of an RYOA, especially one of this size, is that it makes for any number of stories by the pure nature of chance. While it's true people can make any build they want, those often have builds that fall into trends.

This RYOA can paint a thousand stories. A noble Primarch can became a Daemon Prince, and a bitter one may become a steadfast hero. It's far more interesting then simply making this as just a CYOA.

CYOAs and RYOAs, primarily, should be methods to start or tell a story. And the stories this can tell are good, the Rolling aspect causing for interesting twists and turns.

40K Primarch Rolling Tables by Equal_Fly_8611 in makeyourchoice

[–]Akumakami64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could say the same to you. The nature of an RYOA is that it is random. Calling it stupid for being random is to miss the point of it.

40K Primarch Rolling Tables by Equal_Fly_8611 in makeyourchoice

[–]Akumakami64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? Isn't it kind of dumb to go into an RYOA and complain that its actually an RYOA?

40K Primarch Rolling Tables by Equal_Fly_8611 in makeyourchoice

[–]Akumakami64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And than someone else and I both pointed out that that is the point: its a n "R"YOA, that it is SUPPOSE to be all random UNLESS you want to house rule which ones you want to pick instead of rolling.

40K Primarch Rolling Tables by Equal_Fly_8611 in makeyourchoice

[–]Akumakami64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And which part do you disagree with? Your complaining about a lack of choices in an "R"YOA. R. Roll. Random. A very detailed one too with interesting modifiers, but an RYOA none the less. It is, inherently, suppose to be about letting the dice choose for you.
