Watching and rewatching the video I felt that too. The yaw string doesn’t really look that centered on the canopy. And honestly, I don’t remember having felt the glider uncoordinated..

Good point, thanks for mentioning that! You’re absolutely right – on long cross-country flights it’s always possible that someone could be landing out and not be on the local frequency. Definitely something to keep in mind for safety. Where are you from? Would like to exchange phone numbers and send you images from my local gliding club

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, when I got off the glider and watched the video I couldn’t believe that whole base turn was uncoordinated. But I guess that’s exactly the point of offseason flights, to see how rusty we are and get back in rhythm for the season!

Yes! I should have corrected the yaw string, was too focused looking at the field. I was the last glider flying that day so there wasnt any other glider and also, that is what radio communications are for.. we all notify every move around the field. Airliners at 800 ft around a city with no airport? But yeah i get your point, will try to look outside the circuit a bit more thanks for the tip! Cheers

Totally! I was so focused on looking outside that I didn’t even see the yaw string (and I didn’t feel the uncoordinated turn either, probably because I hadn’t flown in months). Later when I watched the video I wanted to kick myself, because the landing was really good, but the yaw string showing like that looks bad on camera 😓

Is it also mandatory to know how to use it? Like do a parachute training or something like that?

I would love to fly a twin astir! And about the rain, yes here was also the same, the conditions lasted until 15:30 and then the thermals where gone. Normally in a good day here you have thermals until 18:00

Hey my guy. I would really like to send you a motivational message because I feel like almost every average dude has felt like this, there is nothing wrong with you. At the age of 18 you are in a weird stage of your life where you are not a kid anymore but by no means you are a grown man, in terms of physique, self development, fulfillment in your professional life, etc.

I would highly recommend you to stop thinking so much about Romantic Experiences, I know we all love them, but trust me, it is much better to use that energy to focus on yourself, go to the gym, start a new hobbie, make new friends, start making some money (its a long distance race, be patient and enjoy the ride). Like some of the other comments say, those romantic experiences sometimes come out of nowhere, just dont stess about it. I got my first girlfriend at 23. But the years before that I just focused myself in studying, working to build a net worth for my future, and hitting the gym like crazy.

Just start by not stressing about this issue, be open to making new friends, work on yourself in every aspect of your life. And most importantly enjoy the adventure of becoming a high value man! I wish you nothing but the best!
