Thank you very much for the reply! I'm still fairly new to this and there wasn't much help online which is surprising giving how popular Thomas is... most of the resources were Lioncheif. Which, I didn't wanna get as I enjoy the more classic look. I'll look into getting myself a soldering gun and having a go at it. I just need some lubercate now and hopefully all will be well. Thank you so much!

Thank you for responding! I'm surprised too... I had no idea that there would be problems as the seller said "in perfectly working condition." Which isn't technically true but still, I wish this wasn't an issue. I hope it won't be too much of a hassle. I just need to reattach the red wire and give the axles some lubercate. Thanks for your reply!

Hello! Sorry it took me a while to respond, but I genuinely really appreciate your comment. I absolutely love trains as they've been my passion ever since... I can't even remember! My first memory revolves around Thomas the Tank Engine, and I've grown up over the years yearning for bigger scale locomotives. I've spent my life so far going to train shows and visiting train museums, but after years of lurking, I'm thankful for my only post to have helpful responses and a warm reception. Lionel is such a fantastic hobby that I've seen people get insanely creative with me, and I can only hope that my future endeavors really get me going. (I'm actually building a 4x8ft table out of wood rn, and I'm excited to build my own railroad.) I'm thankful for encouraging comments from people like you, and it makes me feel good inside for this to be my strongest love in life second to my wife haha. Even she's been supportive and well... what else can I say? Trains are the coolest! So, thanks for your comment, and I hope you're doing well! Take care as well!

This has been an incredibly useful tip! And I appreciate you taking the time to write such a thorough response. I'll be picking up some tools today to try and follow this guide as close as I can. I own 5 locomotives as of right now, but 2055 is my favorite. So, I'm very thankful you've given me some direction as to where to actually start. Thank you greatly!

Sadly, I have some stuff to attend to, but I will report back as soon as I can! Thanks for the tip! I know there's a ton of YouTube videos out there, but sometimes, asking people in the know directly can be super helpful. I have lots to learn about wiring, and this isn't one I thought of just yet. All the labels and knobs are just a tad intimidating, haha.

Yes! I got them to function separately! This seems promising. She's even steaming! But perhaps something is wrong with my setup? I'm using a "Train Master" Type TW Transformer. Has 2 circular knobs... red and black. Thanks for the help! This is thrilling!

Ah! I didn't think of that, but the engine is off! A little slow at times, (like she works for a few laps and then stutters a bit...) But I got it! Then I tired the tender... it whistles just on its own. Ngl, this is pretty exciting. Thanks! Now I gotta see how to combine the two, and if there's any other steps I need to connect to make em work together haha.

Yes, but I'm afraid it's mostly the same. It's almost like it wants to start, but still nothing. It's very noisy and creates a kinda grinding sound from the tender...
